investigation, and although phelps was not at fault, he will still be cited. a sea of baltimore city police cars flooded the intersection just before 9:00 thursday night. they were investigating a car accident involving olympic gold medalist michael phelps. authorities say he was driving his black escalade east on middle street when he was hit by a honda accord heading north on calvert. authorities say the driver of that car ran a red light. >> he had nothing to do with the cause of the accident. it was the other driver running a red light and st. -- trucking his car. phelps refused medical treatment at the scene. his swim coach spoke exclusively to a reporter today and says phelps was a little shaken, but not hurt. >> it was essentially a fender bender. we were concerned for everyone's help, and glad that everyone came out of it okay. >> police say phelps was cooperative with the

the national transportation safety board said an air traffic controller cleared the plan for take off and then made a personal call. sec officials say that person initially failed to warn the small plane of a helicopter in its path, and moments later the plane and a sightseeing helicopter collided. nine people were killed. >> is too early to speculate whether or not atc was called a fault in this accident. it is inappropriate for us to do so. >> a bad day as an air traffic controller could result in the loss of hundreds of lives. >> to faa employees were placed on leave in connection with the crash. a routine traffic stop ended with a mother being taser in front of her children. started when a police officer pulled the mother over for talking on her cell phone.
