police say they beat the man and yelled racial slurs. one of the suspects is in custody. a search is underway for the other two. we will hobble it is tonight at 5:00 and 6:00. >> -- have the latest tonight at 5:00 and 6:00. many are worried that the city's crown jewel is losing its luster. jennifer franciotti has more on how the violence has people worried about the inner harbor. >> a summer day in 1980, where dense crowds descend on the harbor place, an area regarded as a wasteland transformed into a promenade of culture and leisure. this man watched the vision unfold as he worked for the baltimore office of promotion and tourism in the east. -- in the 1980's. >> you could go out and stroll around the harbor and the outside a cafe. it was a great place to jog.

>> recent incidents are endangering the sense of security. >> we have always had incidents at the inner harbor. not very frequent, but they happen occasionally. the happened occasionally in other parts of the city. this certainly was not the first time and it will not be the last. >> many are worried about the long-term impact of people to not feel safe at the harbor. >> the situation this weekend brought it to a head. we have to make sure that we address it seriously and forcefully. >> he points out of the violence at the harbor is symptomatic of a larger problem. >> this is a spillover of what happens each and every day throughout the city of baltimore. >> the thing i would personally like to see is the return of more events and festivals at the inner harbor that bring a mass of people down to the waterfront. >> it is estimated at 14 million

bringing in a lot of the moisture from what was tropical storm claudette. the humidity level will start to feel a little oppressive over the next few hours, juicing up the atmosphere for a potential thunderstorm into the afternoon and evening hours. a quick look on our satellite picture. we are waiting for those clouds here. but out towards the atlantic, we are watching what is now hurricane bill read it is a category 2 storm at this point, and has the potential of becoming a category 3 hurricane. this has shifted a little bit further to the east, closer to bermuda, but we need to watch it very closely. we are out of the cone of influence, what you see here in red, but anything here will be fair game for the light of the storm. the best bet is that it will continue to move north and stay out to sea.
