thunderstorms around dinnertime. we are watching it very closely. >> it is not raining right now which is good for commute. the roads are wet. watch out for that when you are driving this morning. we are seeing some problems on the north side of the beltway. an accident on the inner loop of the beltway past hartford roadblock in the right lane. we have a downed tree blocking harford roads in both directions in glen arm. the alternate is going to be bel air road. traffic lights still out on ritchie highway. the outer loop of the beltway on the north side is looking pretty good. it is the inner loop that we are seeing those problems. i-95 southbound looking good. we will give you a live look a

top part of the beltway. things are moving find in both directions. 95 at 100, things of looking good north and southbound. that is the latest. back over to you. >> police are calling it a hate crime. a 76 year-old man is attacked while fishing with his wife. >> police have one suspect in custody. our reporter is live outside of police headquarters with an update. >> good morning. police say the only motive appears to be raised. the victim is in shock trauma with severe injuries in the head. fishing spot. racial slurs and started beating the victim, leaving him

with a severe head injury. the only apparent motive seems to be raised. hate crime. park in the victim's truck. miles away. they were able to apprehend one suspect. he is a registered sex offender in maryland. police say he is accused of beating his wife because she associated with african- americans. some fellow fisherman could only shake their heads after learning what happened earlier that day. >> [unintelligible] it is terrible. >> just evil.

>> the mayor and police commissioner are expected to hold a news conference earlier this morning. reporting live, wbal tv 11 news. >> thank you. some are criticizing the police initiative being aggressive and creating more violent. the commissioner is advocating this -- -- advocating a more direct approach to suspected gang members. >> cops ought to recognize a gang member when they see them. some of them have covert signs and symbols. when we see that, we should respond to that. we should engage. i want them to be welcome to the harbor. do not act like a jerk.

care of him says hethe three- year old was flown to the hospital. just a fall. >> our officers were able to learn that he reportedly had fallen downstairs. they were not able to corroborate the story. the injuries were not consistent with that of a fall. police have not determined what relationship bradley had with the child. so far no charges have been filed. >> the police is discussing health care, this time he is addressing religious leaders across the country. >> many of the state leaders see reform as an imperative. >> millions of people of faith are supporting health insurance reform. >> a coalition of clergy members from around the country are kicking off a new campaign beginning with a conference call from the president. he is likely to preach the same

>> the biggest thing we have going on is on the inner loop of the beltway on the northeast side. there is an accident there. people take a live look just a minute. the disabled vehicle is 95 northbound approaching the beltway. that is over to the shoulder. watch out for that. a downed tree in glen arm. it is still blocking harford road in both directions. the alternate road will be bel air road. pasadena traffic light is still out. watch out for that at route 2 and ritchie highway. here is a look at the speed

sensors around our area. here is a live look of the north side of the beltway. that accident is not causing very many problems. 83 just north of the beltway is looking okay as well. that is the latest on traffic. here is a final check on buses and trains. >> good morning. we have a delay on the buses lined running 10 minutes late. light rail is looking good with no delays. the metro subway is also on time. the 91 bus is operating 15 minutes late. and other bosses will be diverted due to construction -- bossusses will be diverted due o construction. back to you. >> more rain is on the way.

we have heat, humidity, and a little bit of sunshine. that is all we need for some thunderstorms later on this afternoon. hour winds will continue out of the south and southwest bringing the heat and humidity. 76 degrees downtown. 83 degrees in ocean city. a high pressure is still in control. it is allowing the winds to come out of the south and southwest. it is forcing a lot of the moisture from the tropical storm. there is a lot of humidity outside. we have some patchy fog which will burn off in the next hours or so. more thunderstorms this afternoon. things will clear out again late tonight. we will do it all over again. more humid air in place. more thunderstorms late at and in.

the cold front will move in on friday which will provide a steadier chance of rain. by the end of the weakened, things will get better. hurricane bill is a category input 4. not good news for bermuda. we are ok here. we'll be watching it very closely. it may provide some heavy serve in ocean city this weekend. -- heavy surf in ocean city this weekend. the cal ripken world series is still going on this afternoon with the games which could be dicey with scattered thunderstorms. watch it closely. temperatures will be in the low 90's and upper a's. -- upper 80's.
