tv 11 news. >> school officials say that 18 schools will be opening late because of construction work. schools in the county are scheduled to open up on monday, but 18 of them will not open until tuesday. construction and other work during the summer is causing them to delay the opening. we have a full list of schools opening late on our website, wbaltv.com. just click on education alert. the boston school board has approved a bonus for the superintendent. that bonus is tied to the increase in student test scores the money rewards improvements that the school system has made an academic achievement under his leadership. the teachers' union says that the superintendent should for for the bonus because teachers and staff did not give a pay raise this year. >> another apology for a maryland delegate.

but is slowing down and that is without vaccines. >> if -- as the doctor said, we will see what happens. >> chatting with a therapist online might help people with depression. they're looking at the online cognitive behavioral therapy when it is administered by a trained therapist in real time. the study involved nearly 300 patients who had been diagnosed with depression. 42% of those recovered within eight months compared to 26% of the control group. babies who attend a home day care are more likely to be heavy toddler's. a harvard study found babies cared for in someone else's home as an infant was about five percentage points higher on the growth charts at one and three years old. it is not clear why home day

care babies seem to gain more weight, but parents should insure that the care provider is offering an active environment. >> now, your insta-weather klaas forecast with john collins. >> thunderstorms are kicking around out there. now, in new jersey, that is where the heaviest concentration of storms are. some are reaching back into cecil county. but notice, in the mountains of virginia, the new storms have cropped up. the first batch cool the atmosphere and took some of the in supercharging out of the atmosphere. that makes it hard for reforms to redevelop. the son has had half a chance and it will keep things back up again and provide more fuel for the storms to crop up. they're not severe right now, but we will have to watch them

to see how things play out. >> let's take a look at those temperatures. you can see the cooling effect. we had a little more than a quarter of an inch of rain. high temperature was 93 before those storms hit. it is only 78 downtown. but where the sun popped back through, it has driven the temperatures back up. it is 90 in charlottesville. so, the sun is he in the atmosphere and that may mean more stormy activity this evening. the front will not be coming through until tomorrow at some time. we are vulnerable until then. here is that one cluster of thunderstorms. here are those little storms. we will keep an eye on that. the cold front will have a hard time coming in.

things will kind of stalled and will not be until late saturday or early sunday before the front finally moves through. it will take the humidity down a little bit. this is bill, it is a category 2 storm. it continues on a track that will keep it out to sea. big waves and recurrence will be a problem. our forecast is mostly cloudy tonight with a continued chance of showers. it will be 70-74. the lighter shaded area has a watch continuing. those are warnings that continue to exist because of storm activity. tomorrow's forecast is cooler. we will have more cloud cover tomorrow. the front is still not through.

top stories. 12 football player's that overcome by heat yesterday and taken to area hospitals have all been released. and emergency officials said that none of the injured -- none of the injuries were serious some players develop cramps and nausea and that led to emergency crews being called. >> a homicide in southeast baltimore is under investigation. we brought you details yesterday as breaking news at 5:00 p.m.. police say that a man was shot on south highland avenue and there is no word as to a motive or a suspect. tonight, he has expanded his apology to residents and baltimore city. we first reported that he used a police boat and a police helicopter in his plan to propose to his fiancee. he has already apologized to the police department.
