life and legacy of senator kennedy on our website. there is also a look back on the legacy of the kennedy family in american politics. you'll find it on our home page. in other news, the baltimore city entertainment group presented its plan for $212 million slot parlor. while the plans looked impressive, some concerned citizens are crying foul. and the placement of public hearing on the parlor's location. >> according to the group, the slot parlor will generate half a billion dollars of revenue in its first year and generate thousands of jobs. still, for those who oppose slots, some are saying that they have a hard time expressing their feelings. wednesday afternoon, members of the baltimore city entertainment

group unveiled plans for the celebration casino. a land that they want to build on near the stadium. they want to install the maximum amount of machines allowed, 3750, they say it should generate half a billion dollars in revenue during the first year. the company says it will mean close to $400 million to the state and nearly $20 million to baltimore city as well as creating 900 jobs at the facility and 2300 construction jobs. this all sounds great on paper. that is one of the problems. at a public hearing, donald fry, chairman of the location commission, says he has yet to get anything in writing or the additional $19.5 million licensing fee to get more machines. currently, they are licensed for 500. >> we cannot move forward with any consideration of even looking at a new alternative

plan until one of the proposals is given to us in writing. and it has to be accompanied by the mandatory licensing fees. members of the public are concerned over the timing and locations. this one was held at 4:30 p.m.. >> if you wanted your input, you should consider having these meetings in the community at a time when people can attend. that is how you get input from the public. >> fry says that would advertise the meetings would last until 630 or 7:00. attendance has still been lackluster. >> that would give people ample time to come. we have had, quite honestly, very few members of the public to attend. >> we're told bceg plans to give a written document next month.

burglarizing businesses, mostly in the charles village area. the crime spree started on august 3 and did not end until monday. he hit some of the businesses more than once, including a retro clothing store. it is during the third burglary that the owners fought back. >> he went for my throat. at that point, my boyfriend had a baseball bat and crack him over the head with it. >> he had some injuries from previous burglaries'. >> detectives say that he took a breath and said, it is over, thank god. the search is on for a sex offender in baltimore county neighborhood. he is accused of exposing himself to women in the timbers apartments. one incident happened in the block of rambling of sway, the other in the 300 block of sunshine place.

weather pattern and a possibility of a shower or storm. storms cutting across pennsylvania are weakening a bit. there are a few isolated thunderstorms across the region. storms are numerous to our south and west. with danny starting to show up out over the atlantic, on saturday morning, showers are likely down to the coast. the storm makes its main thrust up to southern new england. tomorrow, a partly cloudy day with a slight risk for an isolated thunderstorm with temperatures in the mid 80's. temperatures -- waves run about 1 foot. the hurricane center tells us that danny now has winds of 50 miles an hour. driving in an area of low pressure over the lake, these are level winds should steer danny up towards new england and keep it safe off the mid- atlantic coast.
