was somehow connected to her job. the working mom was shot three times. in the head, the neck, and an arm. >> the correction officers live a dangerous life when they leave these institutions. because they have to look over their shoulder at all times. every hour that they are out there in the public eye. >> being a correctional officer is very hard work. it is dangerous for us coming out every night, going home, and being in the public. >> she was very well respected by her peers. the union that represents the officers will create a scholarship in her honor. jennifer franciotti reporting. >> anne arundel county police are interviewing, and that may know something after man was discovered inside a car suffering from a stab bowounds. paramedics found the victim slump over inside his car.

he was rushed to a hospital suffering from life-threatening injuries. the woman is not considered a suspect. baltimore city police seven other shooting investigation. it happened at preston street and north fremont avenue just after 2:00 yesterday. police say a man was found shot. there's no word on the victim's condition or suspect or motive. >> baltimore police need help finding a missing 13 year-old girl. if this is a picture of michelle phillips. she was last seen by mother july 17 on ninth street. she last spoke with the girl week later, but the girl had no idea where she was. if you think you have seen her, call city police. >> baltimore police searching for the person or persons who analyzed a southwest baltimore church. a church member discovered spray paint on the building. he believes gangs are responsible. police said tagging are not from gangs. the pastor believes the

others showers past hagerstown. and in annapolis there is thunder storm activity that way as well. pretty active storms this morning. it won't be raining all day, but the threat of rain will be hanging over us all day. we will have to keep an eye on this. we have two things coming in. a tropical storm as well as some fronts in the area. let's look at the current situation as far as the warnings. if we look at the main computer, there's a flood warning in effect for harford county and there's a flood advisory in cecil county as well until 7:00 this morning. temperatures are warm. all in the 70's in our area despite the rain. high humidity all day. the front is all across the area. that will be the focal point for showers and thunder storm

activity today. humidity pushing from the south. the final front of the west will take awhile to comment. a complicating factor in all that will be danny. it is spinning around in the atlantic. it is not well organized, but it is a tropical storm that will be coming up the coast. it will stay offshore, but it will complicate the weather today. scattered showers and thunderstorms, a good chance. southeast winds about 10 miles an hour. 83 degrees. range chances tomorrow. then they go down a little. will take them out for sunday, hopefully. temperatures on the weekend and 80's. pleasant next week in the 70's. >> thank you. we want to report another problem spot. we are told two cars that stuck and high water near timber grove, closing part of owings mills boulevards. watch for those closures.

fail are getting even bigger. now to jane king. >> happy friday. when you look at the numbers about the banks, there's mounting concern about the state of the federal deposit insurance commission. the fdic and shorts are deposits at banks. its list of problem banks has increased to 400, with combined assets of $300 billion. it's not just the troubled banks that are worrisome, it's the sobersides banks. the nation's largest financial institutions are even bigger than they were before the credit crisis prompted a government bailout. jpmorgan chase holds more than $1 of every $10 of deposits across the nation. the same is true of bank of america and wells fargo the newspaper says citigroup issues half of the mortgages in the country and holds one-third of the credit cards. regulators are concerned these banks may be operating under the assumption they can always does go to the treasury department

the last effort from nick. it happens. the indians get the victory by a final of 5-4. michael vick is back in uniform and on the field for a game, since december, 2006. eagles fans or up in arms about it. but they are happy now. the gained two yards. it goes back in and runs to the left. he gained 1 yards. not spectacular, but it does not look like he is missing anything. he still has that great arm. 13 yards on first down. that led to a field goal. it was hard to figure out what it was. 19 yards. he showed he still has something. the eagles get the victory.
