at the baltimore city detention center, employees are learning about the murder of one of their own, erica carr, found shot to death in her car early thursday morning. >> i was very devastated. she was very well respected by all employees. she will be sorely missed. >> it is unclear why the 37 year-old would have been there in east baltimore. she lived in a middle river home with her children. police don't know why sioux was gunned down. there are investigating the possibility it was connected to her job. >> these corrections officers pleaded dangerous life when they leave these institutions, but they have to look over their shoulder at all times, every hour their republic i. >> being a correctional officer is very hard work. it is dangerous for us coming out every night to going home and being in the public. >> it regardless of the motive,

southern parts of carroll county to baltimore county to the north of the city. 3 inches to 6 inches in parts of southern harford county. that is why there's a flood warning in harford county and cecil county to 7:00 this morning. we are all in the 70's this morning. the air is humid. we have a lot of moyes tour coming up from the south. a tropical air mass. -- we have a lot of moisture coming up from the south. there's the potential for a thunderstorm development. we have seen some overnight. we will continue to see the humid air pushing to the area. relief will not come until the two friends finally come through the area. they have to wait for tropical storm danny to come through. it is 600 miles from ocean city. it's a marginal tropical storm. the track will keep this from offshore. it will remain a tropical storm as it moves off the mid-atlantic

coast. the cause of possibility is off towards this part in the mid- atlantic region. it will brush close to cape cod towards the end of the weekend and then move on to the maritime provinces of canada and into the north atlantic. it will still be a tropical storm even aas it moves over the cooler waters because it will move along with the gulf stream. if we take it back to us, but mostly cloudy skies. 78 degrees up to 83. insta-weather futurecast shows the scattered nature of the storms today. danny moving offshore. ocean city is a target tonight and tomorrow. that produced from activity. then the front comes through. by sunday we start to dry out a little. hopefully we can recover part of the weekend. ocean city has a chance of showers on sunday.
