under investigation tonight. a historic born caught fire. -- barn caught fire. it burned to the ground, but nobody was hurt. they're searching for a cause. federal prosecutors say a columbia dentist has pleaded guilty for writing fraudulent prescriptions. 43-year-old keith sikee wrote prescriptions for two types of pain killers. he used the identities of dead people and his patients to get his hands on the drug. sentencing is set for november. >> we're learning more about the mother and son and charged with dozens of towns of animal abuse. and what happens to all those animals that were rescued from the pasadena home. we're joined live with the rest of the story. >> the 21 dogs that were rescued, to have been used in dyes.

-- two have been euthanized. it has also caught the eye of the county's execs. this is called one of the worst cases of animal cruelty the county has seen in quite a while. it was back in august when an animal control officer rescued 21 dogs from this home in the 7900 block of seabury's drive. animal control officers described the inside of the house as something outside of a horror movie. >> these dogs were in deplorable condition. they did not have any hair on them. many of them had worms, and there was some chemical burns to their eyes and their feet because of your and saturation. police say the home had no running water, and the firefighters needed to use breathing apparatus ses.

this just in, bad weather has delayed a space shuttle discovery's homecoming. nasa has decided to skip its first landing attempt. mission control ordered the seven astronauts to keep circling the earth while they wait out some stiff winds and rain in the florida area. the second landing is scheduled for 8:40 tonight. if weather is still an issue, there will have to come home sometime tomorrow. >> now, your instaweather plus forecast. >> be a bit of sunshine west of town and rain to the east. all across the region, a breezy day. we are still picking up on strong winds on the coastal sections, over 30 miles an hour. the taper off a little bit as you head west bound into the mountains. eventually, a little wetter around baltimore.

how can the state climb out of this budget hole? >> no one knows at this time, perhaps even the governor. budget experts and officials from the largest labor union agree that the piecemeal approach is not working. once again, maryland's tax revenues might be lower-than- expected. when the projections are finalized, the governor says he might have to continue to cut another $100 million or $200 million out of the budget. spokesperson said that while more cuts might be necessary, these adjustments could be made in january. the director of the non-profit and non-partisan tax policy institute, when asked what budget options are left? he already made more than $700 million in cuts. >> they cannot really do it without throwing people into catastrophic situations. >> to the comptroller's office is crunching the numbers. the
