the suspect in a domestic assault and up the hospital after fleeing the scene and crashing. the big story this evening, two young men taken to hospital after an early-morning assault. the victim was attacked with a baseball bat. melissa carlson has the latest. >> quite a rude awakening, the woman's ex-boyfriend came in and attacked her new boyfriend. the harford county police say it happened just after 6:00 a.m. this morning. they say the man entered the home through a third story balcony wielding a baseball bat. the current boyfriend confronted the man and the living room, where the police say he was attacked. the new boyfriend fought back. >> evidently, when he entered the apartment building with a

baseball bat and began swinging it, the victim reached down and picked up a machete nearby, swinging a bat. he superficially cut the man, but there were no stronger injuries. >> even so, the intruder when to the hospital. he later got into a car accident in baltimore and has serious injuries to his back. he is currently in the hospital and the police say charges are pending. melissa carlson, wbal tv 11 news. baltimore city police are searching for the suspect shot and killed a man at a bus stop in the middle of the day. the police said the victim was sitting on a bicycle at the stop in northern parkway and mclean boulevard when he was shot. it happened at about 3:00 p.m. yesterday. the police are asking anyone with information to call crime stoppers, 1-866-lockup.

a baltimore city police officer is out of jail on bail after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a juvenile. he entered the plea yesterday, thursday, before the trial was to start. he admitted to taking a young girl who was in his care down to his basement in march of 2008 and then tried to fondle her. he was suspended after his arrest and is scheduled to be sentenced december 7. the state's attorney's office is investigating hidden camera tapes that show acorn workers providing advice to people looking to open up prostitution business. so far, four workers have been fired. now the hot button issue, it is illegal to record audio somebody without their permission. the state's attorney is considering prosecuting. >> in maryland, it is a five- year felony for surreptitious

tax protestors flooded the streets of the nation's capital today as the last out on a coast-to-coast series of tea parties protesting big spending and government. president obama was the focus of many of the attacks, but he is on the road today in minnesota. >> tens of thousands of tea party protesters across the country marched down pennsylvania avenue and rallied at the u.s. capitol. they're hoping to send a clear message to washington. >> the one thing that bothers them the most is government and forging on their lives. >> -- infringing on their lives. >> this was the last out organized by the conservative groups. >> ladies and gentlemen, welcome to waterloo! >> republican lawmakers were along with a parade of official speakers. >> we will take this country back in 2012.

the line on this keeps growing in favor of the ravens. nobody thinks the ravens are going to lose this game. across the board, everybody thinks it will be a blowout. therefore, i am a little bit nervous. >> a lot of pressure. that is it for the news. nbc nightly news is next. nbc nightly news is next. although baltimore county's decision this week to add speed cameras within a half mile radius of school zones raced through, the county council voted in favor of their implementation.

thankfully, it appears everyone agrees it is not about speed. some have argued whether it is fair or accurate to be caught speeding by an electronic device. opponents of the devices called the cameras a tax and revenue generator. the county police chief says the technology improves public safety and it is all about safety, not revenue. he also argued on site police officers will be more effective to determine speeding and drug activity and potential look -- and potential sex offenses. we agree, but unfortunately with limited resources, on-site police officers are not available at all times and the speed cameras are a good addition to the law enforcement efforts. the fact is drivers or not speeding will not generate revenue of. the decade of using red light cameras has proven to be a deterrent. consequently, the number of
