the city's health department has been in contact with the family. the city is trying to immunize as many people as possible from the seasonal flu. the >> do you have any medical conditions? >> nurses were on hand in the lobby of this high school to give seasonal flu shots to adults and children. the most recent h1n1 case of a 13-year-old middle school student has raised concerns among the health department. cracks in the case of the serious illness occurring is in the minority. >> although this case is serious, it is not isolated. >> it is not the first case within the school system. influenza is in the community. we know that children get influenza. all that we are seeing right now is h1n1. >> that is putting parents and students on edge.

tried to rob the off-duty officer as he was entering his northwest baltimore home. david collins is live with details. >> the commissioner says commissioner aaron harris is a brave man and thank the lord that he is still alive. gunfire shattered the peace of a neighborhood in northwest baltimore. >> seven shots. >> neighbors could not contain their curiosity. many ran out of their homes. detective aaron harris honored with five accommodations lay wounded on the front steps of his own home. >> he had been left -- he had been shot in the left side. >> detective harris had just arrived home after visiting a family member in the hospital.

two 16-year-old boys approached him. >> they announced a robbery. one at brandished a revolver at which time a struggle ensued on the porch. the suspects fired multiple gunshots, one of which struck detective aaron harris in the abdomen and at least two other shots struck him in the lower left leg. >> the detective fought back, a managing to strike craig tippet in the leg. police identified the other robber as 16-year-old kevon wilson. both are charged as adults. >> 16 years old with a gun. these are consequences that they have to face, and it is just

beginning to be extremely frustrating. too many times our system has released young people back into the community compromising the health and welfare of many citizens in our community. >> detective aaron harris remain in critical condition. this case tells authorities they have a lot of work to do. >> baltimore county police have charged three men with first- degree murder in the slaying of a man who was confined to a wheelchair. a maintenance worker found the body of the 25-year-old marin lendosky george a week ago today. police have arrested keon samuels, andrew nguyen, and marlon montes.

>> it was a week ago today when residents and county officials were overcome by the devastation caused by a water main break. homeowners are getting their questions ready as county officials help them navigate through insurance red tape. >> it is hard to believe that this is done dock neighborhood looked like this a week ago. folks are slightly trying to return things back to normal. most problems this point have to do with insurance. >> i had at allstate insurance for 40 years without a claim. they said i was not covered. >> the community has been cleaned up. it is really positioned for the recovery to occur. >> baltimore county executive jim smith spoke with us about his feelings one week after the water main break, saying things

went as moved as they could have. the first 911 call came at around 4:00 p.m. the water main was shut down at 6:00 and an emergency shelter was opened. by noon on saturday, most basements were clear of water. 275 residences were flooded, 75 required pumping, and there were some lucky ones. 163 residences had no damage. because of mounting questions concerning insurance, contractors, and cleanup effort, he will be opening a service center to help those in need. >> it will help us clean up supplies, labor, and it will help answer insurance questions that people have. >> residents say they will definitely go but wonder how much it will help. >> may be in the long run it
