the morning. the children were in the home at the time of the rape. >> detectives hope anyone with information regarding the incident will call them. >> police say the victim does not know the assailant. residents in the area are on edge and are taking extra safety precautions. jennifer franciotti reporting. >> thank you. baltimore city police officer recovering at shock trauma this morning after being dragged off several blocks by a suspect trying to flee the scene. rickey hughes arrived to meet with police after noon yesterday. when it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, he tried to flee. that is when an officer tried to grab the keys from the ignition, but not before he was dragged five blocks. >> pretty obvious when you have an officer hanging out the window, so i'm sure he was aware

of it. the officer is interested in stable condition at shock trauma. his bulletproof vest absorbed a lot of the force. >> police finally caught up with the car a few blocks away, but there was no sign of rickey hughes. city police are investigating another incident that forced them to open fire on a suspect. they were making a drug arrest with members of the fbi's 62 task force when the suspect pulled a gun. one officer fired several shots at the suspect who was taken to shock trauma and is in critical condition. >> of baltimore city police officer out on bail after being charged with marijuana possession and that. michael sylvester is the same officer at the center of a police investigation for shaking down drug suspects for cash. if they set up an undercover sting in september where authorities say so buster stole $70. he is expected back in court
