[captioning made possible by constellation energy group] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> good evening. i am deborah weiner are. we are following several big stories tonight. today, the death of eight soldiers announced in afghanistan. insurgents killed americans in the deadliest battle in more than one year near the border with pakistan. we will have more on this story in a report from washington korea and the ravens are dealt their first defeat of the season in their game against the patriots -- a report from washington. the ravens were doubt their first defeat. first, it was billed as the first drive through a clinic in the u.s. thousands were vaccinated against the seasonal flu, and it was all free.

melissa carlson is live with details. >> the word was out. an estimated one hour, and some 5600 people were vaccinated, and hundreds of people still had to be turned away at the free seasonal fluke look at. they had thousands of people spending their morning in their car, but off for a good reason. people just rolled right up and either received the shot or the mist. they need a one-month break before they get that h1n1 shot. maryland will get some 31,000 flu mists to go to the most at risk groups in october. howard county officials say they are ready to get them out. >> for h1n1, we are doing 103 separate clinics, including about 65 clinics in elementary
