baltimore police are touting the lowest numbers of homicides since 1970. -- when the city had 28 murders. >> a gas station owner remains in critical condition. he was shot in a robbery attempt on east joppa road in towson. a man walked in and shot him several times. they do not have much of a suspect description. everyone it with information is asked to call police. sky 11 was over the scene when a small plane ran off the airport runway in gaithersburg. the plane crashed into the nearby woods. there was no fire or smoke.

the pilot, the only person on board, survived the crash. it was not clear if the plane was taking off or landing. >> hundreds of educators, parents and students gathered in annapolis tonight. they rallied, urging legislators not to cut anything from governor o'malley's education budget. >> the rally was organized by the baltimore education correlation which has played a part in rallying the cities education community when it comes to cutting education. tonight was done -- no different. they get together more than five under people in support of the governor's education budget -- more than 500 people. >> parents, teachers and students on lawyers small and annapolis calling upon their senators not to cut their
