bidding farewell to his beloved archbishop who died earlier this week at the age of 96. as you mentioned, he was the 13 our trichet here of baltimore and a well liked and respected leader. a christian burial is set to begin here about an hour from now. this morning and throughout most of yesterday, people have been coming to pay their last respects and to reflect on the life of a religious leader and a downturn or a servant. >> many times right of the street, he would be talking to the people. he would come to our -- >> he would come to our house from time to time. he became a good friend, and we will certainly miss his presence. >> he was the type of person who was easy to speak with, and he demanded deep principles, a deep faith, and he will be missed.

from the community, and police are increasing uniforms and undercover control to prevent more violence. >> people had no luck. these young people have no love for life. it is sad. getting worse, but we do is deal with it. you cannot stay inside. >> police are looking into the possibility that 18 suspects were also involved in other crimes. police are investigating a shooting involving one of their own. coppices shot a man at the intersection around 10:20 last night. police said an officer spotted a man jumping into a mini van shortly after a woman jumped out of bed -- of it in and began beating her. police after the man with an unknown object of the officer, they shot him. we're told the officer was not injured. veteran u.s. senator barbara mikulski announced today she is running for reelection. >> it is so hard.

>> covering the nation -- a federal air marshal is under investigation after hiring a woman and then raping her. the investigation is that he hired a woman off of backpage.com reform and a ratio in his hotel room. the woman alleges that she emerged from the bathroom to find him holding a badge and then he raped her. >> i think that is horrific. they should really do background checks on people. >> it would worry me as someone like that is trying to keep me safe, but i think anywhere you go, and walk of life, you are going to find people like that.

you can see the effects of the cold front to our south. we do make it into the 60's in baltimore, but it is considerably warmer to the south. that cool front is having an effect. we are kind of between storms. there is a big one out over the atlantic ocean, gray and black in parts of new england. here's our sunshine. that cloudiness of rain leading back to this big storm. thunderstorm activity will be down in mississippi valley. here is that tending warm air, just short of us. we will be all right today. we will be mild, but as the storm gets closer, we will get an easterly flow of air tomorrow. we will get clouds and temperature is held down. might be hard to make it to 60 degrees tomorrow. mostly sunny today. mid to upper 60's, and 70's in

some cases. northwest winds five to 10 miles per hour. all that cloudiness hangs out to hours of wednesday along with that scattered showers activity. saturday, we'd pick up a lot more cloudiness. again, that easterly flow of air. there might even be a little drizzle in there, but the range our activity chance increasing for the day on saturday and it will be with us on sunday. we could even see a few thunderstorms in the area. probably, we will warm up a little bit on sunday. slight risk for severe weather on sunday as a cold front approaches, and it will be in that warmer air. here is a look at the forecast -- today, approaching 70. i think 60's mostly throughout the day. only approaching 60 on saturday. clouds and showers. thunderstorms sunday and monday. main chance to start to go down next week, but we have several

days of rain chances coming our way. >> in today's medical alert, the largest study on cell phone cd is now under way in europe. experts hope to recruit at least 250,000 users. they will be tracked for up to 30 years. the new study will follow their behavior in real time, will look at all health conditions that pop up as well as their habits, like how users carry their phone. previous research has included people who already had cancer or other conditions. studies have also been short because sell bonds have only been widely used for a decade or so. health care in this country will bring an end to a successful program in howard county, but officials are already looking for ways to expand on the idea. the plan connects county residents to affordable health care services. the new federal health care law requires all americans be ensured by 2014, which would mean an end to the program. that is why officials are
