one county in south dakota is recovering after being hit by a tornado. it downed trees and telephone poles. it headed straight for a farm but it left a home standing. large hail and strong winds were reported in other parts of north and south dakota. >> one man is lucky to be alive after his car went over a cliff. they reportedly swerved to avoid hitting an animal. he walked away with non-life- threatening injuries. there will be reminders about the dangers of swimming pools. there are different risk levels and it coincides with a national campaign to help reduce drowning incident.

>> now traffic pulse 11 and insta-weather plus together. >> it is not too bad. >> we had an early morning accident on southbound 95 in howard county. let's see what else is going on. we have a bit of a delay on southbound 95 coming out of the southeast -- out of the northeast. 52 miles per hour around the j.f.x. and no problems to report on the west side. 65 miles on southbound 83. no problems from the maryland line all the way down. 11 minutes on southbound 95 coming down towards 32. the accident is now gone. the roads are slick.

we have moisture coming off the water. that will be the case for most of the morning. 65 in columbia and cockeysville. the temperature should be able to climb about 10 degrees today. an area of low pressure off the carolina coast is promoting an east wind and grabbing the moisture off the water. eventually, i think we will see some breaks in the overcast. this morning, we will have drizzle all the way through the drive time. this low pressure will move off the coast. high pressure will move in and should dominate all the way through the end of the week. a hurricane season does not begin until june 1, but mother nature does not have a calendar. there is an area of low

pressure north east of the bahamas that may become tropical later on today or tomorrow. it could become a tropical storm. we have to watch and see what it does as it comes up the southeast coast. we will leave that out of the forecast for now. today, mostly cloudy. a chance for some rain showers and drizzle for mostly this morning. high temperature around 75. sunrise at 5:46. there could be some areas of fog developing. low 60's. sun said at 8:26. it all depends on what happens with the storm off the coast -- sunsets at 8:26. a front moves in on thursday and friday with scattered showers
