we turn to kate amara in our washington bureau. >> a democratic congressman said the new document raises a new question -- was the oil spill much worse than bp let on? 4 million gallons of oil could pour out of the deep seat well each day, according to an internal document released by ed markey. he says it is more proof that bp has not been honest with the public. >> they should have known from the beginning. they delayed a full response to the magnitude of this disaster. >> bp officials say this would only apply if the blowout preventer was removed. the company said it was making progress on one of two relief wells, which they believe is the

best chance to stop the oil spill. bp says it has spent $2 billion responding to the spill. the cost continues to climb as the spill continues to spread. tar balls washed up on florida beaches near panama city. bp has been asked to prepare a new contingency plan. kate amara, wbal-tv 11 news. >> 38 pelicans have been released back into the wild. 192 brown pelicans have been taken from the louisiana coast coated with oil. 80% of those rescued can be saved and reintroduced into the wild. the hope is that the texas

habitat will be a safe haven from them from the spill. millions of process raw sewage seeped away into the biscayne bay saturday morning. people were warned to stay out of the water. test results should confirm the severity of the contamination. >> kids are notoriously picky eaters. marketing and commercials can be influencing their tastes. a study found that children overwhelmingly would choose a product if packaging featured a licensed cartoon character, like the explorer.xplora that brings us to our watercooler question of the day. do you think limits should be placed on cartoon characters to market junk food?

threatened. police have arrested a man in connection with the first wildfire. they say he was negligent in disposing of some hot coals. 19 people were injured after a fire on a subway. most injuries were related to smoke inhalation. last july, means materials in the subway station caught fire. 20 people are dead, over 50,000 are homeless after the was flooding in brazil. the region has received 14 inches of rain. flooding killed at least 44 people while leaving thousands homeless in the same area. >> most of general motors workers will not get a summer

spending is sure to escalate. seeing bp stock falling in london trading this morning. nordstrom rack plans to open another store in the area this summer. a new store will be opened in the annapolis harbor center. the only other nordstrom racks are in maryland. it will hire about 70 people. trading finished on friday in the green. the bloomberg maryland index moved slightly higher. new jersey is fighting back. residents and businesses are tired of all the jokes. they have started a website to rally those who are tired about all the put downs from pollution to political corruption.
