screen, these were literally read to us by hand in the last 20 minutes or so with 100% of the precincts counted in the city state's attorney race. gregg bernstein has -- the incumbents, patricia jessamy -- leading to the margin at 1295 votes. that's slightly smaller than that was earlier in the day, but it gives the margin to the challenger, democrats gregg bernstein. this has been a long day of waiting for this final umbers, so what took so long? -- final numbers, so it took along. the night came and went with no clear winner. democrat gregg bernstein came out of nowhere to challenge the incumbent and went home before midnight clinging to a narrow lead.

it widened to about 1400 votes by early morning but no one declared his victory or conceded defeat. the problem was the vote count stalled at 97% of the precincts. the other 3% or locally lost temporarily in transition. according to officials, judges neglected to turn in the memory cards from 82 voting machines after the polls closed. those machines were spread across 12 polling places from various parts of the city. officials spent the day tracking them down and recording the results. officials say there is nothing fishy about the problem, just some sloppy attention -- some sloppy things that would not have gotten ignored if it wasn't for the closeness of the race. next in the race, the absentee ballots. that count starts tomorrow morning. the exact number of absentee balance -- 2198, that count will

begin tomorrow at 10:00. there might be a few more ballots that come in tomorrow morning as of the close of business today. the challenger has laid low all along. patricia jessamy has not made any public he statements. a spokesperson for campaign said they thought there were as many as 6000 to 10,000 votes. that never seemed like a likely number because the turnout was so low. we were not talking about that kind of vote, but as of this moment, 100% of the precincts have been counted and the challenger, gregg bernstein, his margin 1295 votes. we'll see what develops as the evening goes on. >> thank you. moving on to what has been a tough race to lead the

baltimore county -- the race is now set for democrat kevin kamenetz to take on the republican for county executive. >> thanks to some voting machine and glitches, the democrat had to wait until late this morning to make his primary victory speech. but just as he was doing that, his next opponent was firing a shot at him. raven boulevard. just before 3:00, corroboree was taking place at this liquor store. an off-duty security guard observe the robbery going down and attended to intervene. one of the robbery suspects, as you can see, one of the windows of the cleaners was shot out and there were able to recover a gun. a second suspect is on the loose. the security guard was transported to a local hospital due to an injury he encountered while trying to make the apprehension of the robbery suspects. right now, city police are conducting an investigation. as we get more information, we will update you on the situation. >> thank you. more testimony today from people inside the new haven lounge, the fateful night three men robbed at the club and gunned down a former city councilman can harris as he tried to drive

-- the has diminished a little bit. at the center of this storm, -- julia had also increased to a category 4 storm. for a few hours today, have to category 4 hurricanes in the atlantic. that has only happened one other time -- in 1926. julia is the only store in this far east on record. amazing to have these storms at the same time. a much weaker tropical storm has made its way into the yucatan. that should not be a major problem. julia has come down to category 3 and the winds have diminished a little bit. igor still looks like the main threat for bermuda. the storm is forecast to weaken as it moves north and encounters westerly wind shear. it is likely to be a category 2 or category three hurricane as it bears down on bermuda sunday

the lounge located at the north would shopping center. none of them saw or could identify who shot and killed the former baltimore city councilman as he tried to drive away. each had a different recollection of what they saw and heard. three men are charged in the murder and robbery. during an exchange between the defense attorney, one man said he did not want these boys convicted of assumption. he said he did not know if they were the boys. >> @ think it is conceded by the states that they have no old- fashioned i witnesses to any of this and my problem is these witnesses up to this point are testifying based on assumptions, based on conjecture, and as i asked the witness, i reminded them these young men are on trial for murder. i asked if they want them to be convicted on assumptions.

serpent ridge winery owned by this man and his wife. the couple were amateur wine makers before he retired from the coast guard. he the previous tenant lived in a previous hedgerow. >> about 100 stag's came out of it -- realistically there are probably two or three. but it stuck with me. >> certain bridge opened its tasting room and are producing metal quality wines. they won the best what -- best red blend in a competition. it is one of the wines that will feature at the wine festival. the festival -- the festival will drop wineries from all over the state and give them exposure. >> we will have people from all 50 states and all over the world coming to taste the wine trade is a huge boost for our business. >> we're counting up to 250 different wines to try. >> the director of the wine

association says there will be 38 wineries at the festival, including five that newly opened. tickets are $25 and with this, you get this tasting class. for $30, you get a bigger glass and access to the premier tent. >> library winds, 10 or 15 year- old maryland cabernets. there are wineries that are only in the premier to and this year. >> the festival is expected to draw 20,000 people from every state and from around the world. it has something for everyone. >> there are 80 food and crafts stands, we have entertainment, jazz, rock and roll. >> we are growing and producing world-class wines in maryland. i'm excited to be part of it. the industry has just started to take off. maryland is on the map. >> in case you are wondering, i'm told will take six bottles of wine to fill this entire glass.
