a teenager lost his life in harford county. 14-year-old joseph paul d'entremont was hit on route 24 and forest hill. he was in the cross walk. when there was a no crossing signal. he was taken to the hospital and later died. police say the driver, a 19-year-old robin monaco, stayed at the scene. there's no word this morning if any charges will be filed. >> three schools are closed this morning due to a weekend water main break in anne arundel county. the chesapeake high school, chesapeake bay middle school, and folger mckinsey elementary and chesapeake bay middle school will all be closed today. they are expected to reopen tomorrow. this morning, the final clean-up is underway at the spill site in the gulf of mexico after the well is successfully sealed. the teams will be able to leave. >> but for many along the coast, the fight against the oil continues. today it will stretch all the way to washington. 1 news reporter jay gray

explains from venice, louisiana. >> it began april 20 with a massive fireball and deadly flames cutting through the night air. as the dead water horizon rig exploded and collapsed, 11 lives were lost. oil began to seep into the gulf, the start of the worst spill in u.s. history. now, 154 days later, government scientists say the final seal, 74 barrels of cement, is holding tight, and that the well will never leak again. president obama acknowledged the work that's been done and perhaps the more difficult job that lies ahead. in a written statement, which says in part, we will continue to work closely with the people of the gulf to rebuild their livelihoods and restore the environment that supports them. my administration will see our community, our businesses, and our fragile ecosystem through this difficult time. difficulties that continue to wash up along the gulf coast. clean-up teams fight every day,

it's relatively mild to start out in the 60's. as you know, it can easily be in the 40's and 50's. big area of high pressure dropping down out of the great lakes will be the dominating factor in our weather story here over the next couple of days. this front continues to slip down to the south. there's no precipitation along the front, and with the high coming in from the northwest, it's obvious that we're going to stay dry today and probably tomorrow as well. a little bit of high, thin cloud cover still showing up on the satellite, so we'll call it partly to mostly sunny. that cloud deck you see on the edge of the screen, those are the outer bands of igor. finally we get to say goodbye to this big storm. it came across bermuda last night as a category one hurricane. i didn't see any reports of catastrophic damage or anything. there was a big storm surge with it, but it's pulling away from the island now, and it will move into the open waters of the atlantic. and again, we can finally say goodbye to igor. our forecast here at home, mostly sunny, a little breezy, but nice. high temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 70's. sunrise coming up at 6:52, and it should be a beautiful sunrise. mostly clear tonight. i'm going call it chilly.
