our reporter was first at the scene and filed this report. >> all of a sudden, i felt a big bang, and i heard screaming from the hallways. i opened my eyes, and the curtain was in flames. >> she was one of six people inside the house when it caught fire after 2:00 a.m. she and her girlfriend had to break out a window on the the second floor just to get onto the roof. >> i was so scared of jumping. i was on the phone with 911 as it was happening. i heard the door starting to crack, so i had to jump. as i was jumping, i was being burned. my hair singed. my arm this change. >> i heard a metal bending. >> this 10-year-old was

terrified. he was able to get out, along with his mother and grandfather. his grandmother was trapped in the attic and had to jump to safety. >> when she landed on the deck, i had to run past her. she said, "help. help." >> the grandmother was taken to a hospital to be treated for a leg injuries. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. >> six pets inside died in the fire. in at no. baltimore, wbal-tv 11 news. >> meanwhile, people are recovering after a pair of late night shootings. this took place last night near 10th street and brooklyn. one was shot in the stomach and

the other in of the pelvis. two people are in the hospital in serious condition, expected to survive. about two hours later, police work called -- police were called to respond to a double homicide. homicide detectives are handling the case. no arrests have been made in either case. a woman remains in jail this and noon accused of beating to death her own anunt. she beat the auto theft devices known as the club to beat her want to death -- her aunt to death. >> it appears that the victim was struck repeatedly with the club device.

>> police still have no motive in in the case. for the second time, the baltimore ravens assistant coach faces charges of driving under the influence. he was pulled over saturday morning around 1:00 a.m. he is charged with the seven motor vehicle violations including driving under the influence. he is expected to plead not guilty. he was acquitted last month of driving under the influence and negligent driving. meanwhile, a man has ben and found guilty of murder in a murder for hire scheme involving his uncle. the jury returned the verdict after just two hours of deliberation. a woman planned the murder of her husband who was shot and killed in march in what was supposed to look like a gas station robbery. she paid two men and $9,000 to

carry out the crime. nine coalition service members are dead after their helicopter crashed in southern afghanistan. nato officials say the attack took place in a southern province. they said there were no reports of hostile fire. one coalition service member was injured in the crash and has been transported to a military center for treatment. the cause of the crash is under investigation. an arrest warrants are being issued against a washington state woman who lied about being attacked with acid. she threw the acid on her own pace and claimed she was attacked by someone else. she reportedly spent $1,500 generated by fund-raisers on dinner, travel and clothing. traffic on a busy highway came

to a near standstill as four of the five lanes were blocked by a plane. the pilot of the plane said he was having mechanical problems and could not reach of the local airport, so he landed the plane on interstate 85 during the heart of a rush-hour. no injuries were reported, but the plane did have some damage. today the department of transportation will hold a second national summit to intensify efforts to keep distracted drivers off the road. we have details. >> this woman died in a car crash when the driver of the tractor-trailer rig lost control causing a chain reaction. the truck driver was text messaging during the accident. >> everyone has as someone that they love and adore, and they

chance of a thunderstorm. friday, 86 or 87. upper-70's by the weekend. >> a young manager deals with culture class in a personal way when he deals with a call center in india. the new nbc sitcom "outsourced" starts thursday night. the cast has joined us. you play the manager. tell us about the type of comedy is and what attracted you to this role. >> this comedy if it's been really well with the other shows on thursday night on nbc. i think what really sets us apart is that ours is a much more heartfelt and earnest approach. our characters -- it is the same office politics.

a lot of the comedy comes from that, but our characters love their jobs and are excited to come to work every day. it creates a more positive energy. >> it looks like a great show. how popular are you these days when you tell people you are playing the role of someone named "man meat?" >> it will be interesting to be walking down the street and have people call me that name. it is a great start. you will definitely remember him. we are shooting our seventh episode, so it is nice to get away from that. now we are exploring loads of different things with the character. for instance, me and todd form a really close relationship. we are almost best friends now.

we get to explore some great things. he teaches me about the dating and i teach him about indian culture. >> do not be ashamed of the man at meat thing. it is a good icebreaker. your character is a wallflower who finds her voice at work. how did you identify with that? >> there are a lot of different aspects to her that i can relate to. even though off-camera my friends and family are telling me that i cannot stop talking, there are parts of me that definitely have wanted to disappear into the wallpaper in certain situations. i think that is something that really got to me. i think there is something innocent and sweet and charming about her in her traditional values and the way that she speaks.
