people to jump to their safety of loved falls road in northern parkway. one of the victims said it started in a second floor bedroom. jennifer franciotti has more. >> all the sudden, i felt a big bang and i heard screaming from the hallway. the doorway was just in flames. >> she had little time to get out alive. she was one of six people in the house when it caught fire after 2:00 a.m.. christine and your girlfriend had to break out of a window on the second floor. >> by that time, flames were coming out of the window. i was so scared and it took me a minute. i was on the pawn and 911. i threw my phone and then i heard the boards starting to crack. i had to jump. as i jumped, i was being burned. my whole arm and my hair are

barry simms is live outside the courthouse east with more on today's testimony. >> surveillance video once again took center stage. a special security officer told jurors he could identify the defendant in this case. within one month after the september 2008 murder of former councilman ken harris and the robbery of the new haven lounge, they got a tip about a possible suspect. tuesday, the man -- the man who called in the tip testified. he is an officer who worked for the shopping center who identified the three men on trial saying he frequently dealt with them because of loitering at the shopping center. prosecutors showed a video from a grocery store bank of the three men walking past security cameras. he saw the camera -- said the video online and pointed to the metal in the the middle with a "funny what" saying his legs tend to bend and go. he had seen him walk a lot.

newsroom with more. >> this affects the graduating class of 2015. while the state board has taken a major first step, they're still trying to spell out what it means to become environmentally literate. dozens of the environment are part of the daily teaching schedule at the western school of technology of the environmental silent -- sites. they would like to see more students across maryland become environmentally literate. >> environmental education and literacy is threaded throughout our curriculum. this would not represent the requirement that each system develop a new course. >> the foundation has been a driving force in helping states help students learn more about the environment. by way of this new proposal.

>> you will see this embedded into the curriculum. it is already there. you also see these kids taking the information into the school yard and the communities to learn about the natural world around them. >> it stops short for now of in forcing students to take and pass environmental class's in order to graduate. >> it seems to me we are communicating that there is a new requirement on students. what has been said is that this is a requirement on schools. >> of we're going to leave this up to the schools and the systems to do something that i think is very important, i think we need to make sure that there is equity across the systems. >> in the end, they agreed to go back to the drawing board and

has been ordered to pay $4 million for deliberately dumping pollutants in the water. the investigation began in january when a crew member passed a note to a customs official. they said waste oil had been dumped overboard through a hose. $750,000 of that penalty will go to the national fish and wildlife fund and will help chesapeake bay. three people are recovering after a triple shooting in the south baltimore. three men were shot around 8:30 p.m. last night. according to investigators, two were shot in the stomach and the other in the pelvis. one victim was treated and released while the other two are still in serious condition. nine coalition service members are dead after the helicopter crashed in a southern province of afghanistan. according to nature, no reports of enemy firing in the area but the taliban is claiming responsibility. the death toll is now at 529

west in the mntains are just as warm as we are. is a good sign we will heat up tomorrow. but mostly clear skies tonight, a lice -- a nice southerly breeze will keep it down. the wind will be the key tomorrow. and will bring in more humidity. the wins will be coming about the gulf coast region. it will feel like summer time even though tomorrow evening is the official start of fall. this front will also be inching in. you can see those bright clouds on the front. some of those thunderstorms may develop tomorrow afternoon. the friend then dissipates in the heat and humidity returns into thursday and friday. a couple of days of the feeling like summer trying to continue. 84-89 degrees tomorrow with a 30% chance of a thunderstorm. winds will be testing out of the south at about 20 knots in the afternoon on the day. there is a small craft advisory.

a thunderstorm is likely on deer creek tomorrow. as 77 degrees on the day. temperatures in the may 80's. lower eastern shore, the best chance for dry weather will continue around ocean city. as you get toward southbury and closer in the coastal areas, you could pick up a thunderstorm. most of the area will stay dry. the national weather center is watching this area. this may become a tropical storm and could become matthew. right now, there is a tropical storm lease on the board. it is forecasted to become a minimal hurricane. it will probably drift toward the central part of the atlantic but is not forecasted to get any significant land fall. it feels like summer. 86 with a chance for a thunderstorm. almost 90 degrees on thursday and a low 90's on friday. cooler weather arriving in time for the weekend and then we are
