police are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found around 11:00 p.m. last night on stone gate court. lowell melser is live with more on the case. >> baltimore county police really are not saying much on this case only that they have found the body of a hispanic male. they're calling this death "suspicious." after talking to neighbors, we are learning much more at least according to what they are saying. they feel the man may have been targeted by gangs. baltimore county detectives work their way to the block of stone fort kate -- stone gate court after an adult hispanic male was found dead late monday night at around 11:30 p.m. >> we do not know the lives in the area or one of the residences in stone haven. we are trying to ascertain that. >> police are being very tight- lipped waiting on more

information from the medical examiner's office. >> we heard the sirens. i thought something was wrong. >> neighbors were very concerned and say more and more people have been using the area as a cut through to reach to section 8 housing behind where the homicide occurred. >> it is really scary. this neighborhood, we get a lot of transient traffic. it really has them thinking. >> the victim was attacked in a group of men with baseball bats and they could be heard laughing as they walked away. the witness said the victim was targeted because he was hispanic most likely from a gang in the area that has been targeting hispanics in the past. we asked police and they told us that investigators were not aware of this story and the case

clock got certified? >> yes. it was a sleek come easy on the environment, and surprisingly quiet is what we said. they submitted this to energy star claiming it is a room air cleaner. >> it was a space heater with a feather duster tied to it. >> no one read the description? >> they sell the certifications. >> one of the gao's @ rangers' product was a geothermal heat,. they claimed it was 20% more efficient than anything on the market. no one question the claim. they just asked if the claim is true. we email them back that it was. that was it. >> they submitted 28 products to energy star. 15 of the certification. they did not hear back on 3 and only two were rejected. the gao released their findings earlier this year.

some changes in the certification process were immediate. what about the products that had already received certification? >> they declined our request for an interview. we wanted to know how they planned to restore public confidence. there are thousands of products with that label. >> in an e-mail, the epa says they are in the process of testing within 200 of the best- selling energy star appliances. when spokesperson said it is part of their effort to maintain trust in the brand and to ensure when a consumer sees the energy star logo the can be confident the product will be energy-efficient can help our burma. test results are expected by the year end. also by year end, many manufacturers wishing to qualify their products will have to submit independent lab reports from epa accredited labs. this was not required before. gone are automated approvals.
