up the east coast. when is it expected to hit maryland? let's go over to our meteorologist. >> this is going to be a huge mess. we are seeing areas of rain already, occurring to the south of baltimore. take a look at all of this tropical moisture, which actually originates with nicole. it extends all the way down to miami. the tropical storm has formed and this thing is going to barrel at a very quick pace up the eastern seaboard. it is going to give us torrential downpours throughout the day tomorrow, heavy downpours in its six to eight hours with likely moderate to heavy rainfall. a flood watch goes in effect

has widened his lead over his republican challenger. the poll conducted earlier this month shows 52% of likely voters support governor o'malley. the poll has a margin of error of four points. we expect to hear details about what is being called a landmark contract proposal between the public school system and its 6000 teachers this evening. specifics have been kept under wraps so far, but city teachers are expecting pay raises for the first time in more than a year. it is not certain if this pay hikes will be tied to a teacher's performance. tim tooten will have the latest tonight at 5:00 and 6:00. two suspects are now in police custody in connection with a murder. 22-year-old manuel gutierrez and

23-year-old jamie calderon face murder charges in the death of jose ramirez. the body was found in the apartment that the three men shared. police believe the two men murdered ramirez after an argument in their apartment. the baltimore city police officer is dead after an accident on a pennsylvania road. investigators say the 26-year- old was on his way to a training program when he crashed his truck into a concrete barrier around 5:30 monday morning. the 33-year veteran of the force leaves behind a wife and two children. investigators believe poor weather conditions contributed to the deadly crash. closing arguments could begin tomorrow in the case of three suspects accused of gunning down a former councilman.

the prosecution rested its case yesterday. premeditated murder charges against the suspects were also dropped. the trial resumes tomorrow. life without parole, that is the sentence for a man convicted of ordering a hit on a fellow gang member. he was sentenced yesterday after becoming the first in baltimore county to be convicted of a hate crime. prosecutors say he ordered the murder of a fellow gang member because he believed he was gay, which would make the gang look weak. his mother pleaded for justice. >> i had to speak up for him, speak up for justice. he is gone. i have to make sure that they

she backtrack to reveal the real winner, 18-year-old amanda. wow. a 12-year-old boy remains in a hospital in chicago in serious condition after neighbors say an elderly woman had enough of him vandalizing the property and shot him. police say it happened around 5:30 yesterday night. investigators say the woman, believed to be in her sixties or seventies, chased the boy's and fired shots after one of the bricks they were throwing smashed a window. >> he is the leader. he is worse. >> she had enough. they were setting garbage cans on fire in her front yard.

this and give us flooding rain tomorrow. let's take a look at what we are looking at right now this front is not going to get through very soon. we are going to see this develop. it is going to combine with tropical storm nicole. it is a massive storm. all of this moisture is infiltrating the eastern seaboard. it is going to bear all of the coast tomorrow which is why we are expecting heavy downpours. we should say flood watches but we have a coastal flood watch in effect and a general watch in effect for our entire area. it is going to be a very bad day tomorrow. the flooding is the real issue with this because we could get six to eight hours straight of those heavy rains. we are going to be consistent in temperatures tomorrow.

at last check, we were right at about 70 degrees. the clouds this afternoon are going to intensify. we are talking 868 to 73 degrees. 60 to 65 degrees, we will start to see the rain showers start. it is going to be dicey all day long, heavy pockets of rain at times. let's take a quick look at futurecast. a nice back to rain at about 9:00. even more into tomorrow night. we are talking about an all-day event here, and still unsettled on friday. the silver lining? we are going to have a nice weekend but we could see some flooding tomorrow. we will keep you posted. >> before heading to a doctor, your insurance company might have to call you a nurse first.
