come of all midcoast -- up along the coast. there is much heavier rain down across southeast virginia and into the carolinas, all associated with what used to be tropical storm the cold. that has dissipated but the moisture is still coming our way. computer models indicate that a lot of rain will fall between now and friday evening. the red and yellow areas indicate four or 5 inches of rain, especially on the eastern shore and the lower eastern shore were heavy rain is possible. there may be some gusty thunderstorms as well. wind advisories have been posted near the bay. tides are expected to run around 2 feet above normal three the day tomorrow. there may be some minor coastal flooding due to the higher than normal ties until the storm can move out. we will check the complete forecast in a few minutes. >> officials around the state are getting ready for this storm. they say they are urging

looks now around 270 northbound, just north of exit one. we have video to show you of what it looked like earlier. shortly after 4:00 this afternoon, a tour bus was in the process of hitting the sky ramp to go northbound onto 70, but for some reason a loss control and ended up hitting portions of a bridge and a guard rail and rolling down about 30 or 40 feet. we understand there was one fatality involved in this accident. four people were trapped inside the bus. there were rescued. two of those people were in critical condition and taken to trauma centers. the other two were serious but not critical. there were least 12 people on the bus at the time of the accident. ntsb has been informed. maryland state police are conducting the investigation and right now northbound to 70 from the inner loop of the beltway is still shut down. -- northbound 270.

>> 11 news has confirmed that the baltimore city police department has disbanded one of its drug unit as it investigates allegations of misconduct of several officers. we are told one supervisor and one officer have been suspended. we will have more on the developing story for you on 11 news tonight at 11. >> a possible landmark deal with baltimore city teachers could land them extra pay based on student performance. tim tooten is live in hamilton with the very latest. >> details of that landmark contract are still being explain at this hour, but we have some of the basics. it is a three-year contract that will have a 4.5% raise over that period, and current health benefits will remain the same. here is what the mayor had to say about the contract a little while ago. >> with this new contract,

baltimore will lead the state and even the nation in making the necessary changes to improve academic achievement in our school system. today, baltimore school teachers and administrators are not waiting for anyone. -- not waiting for anyone to improve public education. >> here are some more specifics about the contract. pay for first-year teachers would go to $46,744. the top base increased being proposed is $80,000, which would go to 100,000. what we are trying to hear now is where that money is coming from and how the district might be able to afford these increases. the contract has received praise from the state school superintendent. her in a terse statement and a contract is available on our website, wbaltv.com.

o'malley cut the ribbon for the grand opening of the state's first slot parlor. >> the bed bug problem across the u.s. has almost reached an epidemic status, and baltimore is not immune. the city health department hosted the first of several public meetings on the issue all in hopes of curbing fuehrer's and offering some good advice. lowell melser joins us live from the city health department. >> the story has been in and out of the news and is making headlines again as baltimore health officials say they are receiving an alarming number of phone calls concerning bedbugs. this afternoon's forum offered citizens guidance they may need to prevent them from happening in the first place or ways of dealing with them. it even had some success stories. >> it was late one night when i went into my room and click on the light, and there was a bedbug just crawling across my

richmond toward north pole, and you can see the continuation of the heavy rain down through north carolina. at one time it was tropical storm nicole. the national hurricane center indicated the tropical system has dissipated, but the moisture sources coming right up out of eastern florida through the carolinas and into baltimore. the new low pressure forming on the coast could bring us several inches of rain in parts of maryland. only a trace of rain so far at the inner harbor. the cloudy skies and showers could keep the temperature is below normal today. only 55 degrees of on skyline drive in the shenandoah national park. cecil county at 70 degrees and will stay in the upper 50's to mid 60's through the night. a possibility of heavier rain after midnight heading toward tomorrow morning. the front stalled on the coast
