that burned for hours in dundalk will be condemned. although no longer used for production, the seagram's plant is a landmark in the neighborhood. it caught fire around 4:00 this evening on fuller's. road. >> is kind of hard to see behind me, but there is only one wall left standing from the old seagrams distillery building. 60 firefighters were called in to fight this fire. this is the of the fire from skyteam 11. firefighters found flames shooting out of the roof and smoke visible from blocks away. >> it did not take long, the building deteriorated enough that did collapse. >> only one exterior wall of the

hours late, and crews got to work on area roadways, patching sinkholes and other problems. >> work crews from around the region repair roads after thursday's storm. here in severn, of of i-97, anne arundel county crews are busy repairing this major sinkhole that took about half of the road out, one of many projects around the county. >> we have a lot of roads that were closed due to high water and some do to tree damage. we are in the process of opening some roads and are still getting a few calls to close other roads, mostly because of trees. >> about 2 miles north of the beltway, another sinkhole. by friday afternoon, workers and capped it with metal plates to finish later. emergency officials say that besides the sinkhole, there was not a lot of damage to county

roads. >> the sink holes are the most serious and obvious problems we saw on the roadways. the rest of the problems for flooding in the roadways. we were concerned about people driving through those waters. as we move into the weekend, that danger is going to pass because the water is going to disappear. >> as far as the cost to repair the roads around region, we contacted area counties and the state highway administration, and they all say it is too early to say tell as the work is still being done. it will be much less than hurricane isabel back in 2003. >> we were concerned about what the effects might be. we were pleasantly surprised this morning to find that the damage was relatively minimal. >> it was not just the roads that took a rock hit from a tropical downpour.

heavy rains flooded homes and businesses throughout the area. many folks today were still cleaning up the mess. in and around a county, neighbors worked to remove a tree from a swimming pool, and some believe a tornado is to blame for of the damage. >> we were sitting in our living room and all the sudden my husband said look out there. everything was going sideways across the back of my sun porch. >> tom tasselmyer tells us a tornado did touchdown in and around a county. it certainly created a mess in that area b.g.e. en anne arundel county. the coast guard wants to remind everyone tonight of the rough waters that the strong weather systems can leave behind. crews had to rescue two voters

classmate. it happen before noon at annapolis high school. investigators say the victim and the suspect reportedly know each other. they are asking any students with information to call anne arundel county police. the fate of the three men accused in the 2008 slaying of baltimore city councilman ken harris is in the hands of the jury. the jury began their deliberations today following closing arguments. it lasted just about two hours. they charged they bar the shot that killed ken harris. the defense hopes additional dna evidence will rule in their favor. >> it is the scientific method, but you can see on the mixtures is not definitely one person. it could be up to cover six people. >> you can log on to our

73 degrees today at bwi marshall, and that is normal for the day. we picked up an additional third of an inch in the early morning hours, but the sun did break out later in the afternoon, leaving behind a sort reduced from total that was impressive around the bay. 9 inches at the naval academy in annapolis, on up into harford county, at 10.5 inches around for a steal. not quite as much as you travel west, but embedded in all the rain was this tornado we were talking about earlier down around the pasadena area. the national weather service examine the damage and found on the lower end of things, 80 mile an hour winds.

it was 200 yards wide and tracked for about a mile. so yes, there was a tornado imbedded in all that rain, which is now moving up the coast of new england heading into eastern canada. behind it, the skies had cleared out and things have dried up nicely. saturday looks really good around here. it will be chilly in the morning. we are already down to 53 at parkton and things have dropped out and frost burke and mckinley. clear skies, light northwest reece, 52 in downtown baltimore to start out saturday. a nice looking start to the weekend. sunday, watch out, low pressure in the upper atmosphere is dropping south and east and looks like it will bring another round of rain. if you want to be of by this weekend, tomorrow looks like the day.
