[captioning made possible by constellation energy group] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> good evening. i am deborah weiner. we begin in carroll county where homicide investigation is underway in westminster. a man was found dead in his apartment. george lettis has the latest. >> the state police are leading the investigation. we have been told the victim's name is steven hobson. he was 40 years old.

troopers also say they believe he was stabbed to death. was mr. is not used to murder investigations. --- westminster is not used to murder investigation said. the city police responded to a call at 2:30 a.m. where they found the man dead with blood on his clothes. state police say he lived alone and was unemployed. no one has been charged and there are no suspects. >> investigators from the state police, the westminster police department, are interviewing people in the area, witnesses, determine -- to determine what occurred and who is -- who was responsible. >> authorities do not know why someone would want to kill steven hobson. if you have information, you are urged to call the maryland state police. live in carroll county, george lettis. >> police in anne arundel county are investigating a suspicious

death. early friday, police responded to a report of the sick or injured person, but found a body when they arrived. he suffered a parent trauma to his upper body. an autopsy will take place sometime soon. >> cool today, but no clouds in the sky. and i stay out there. if that will be changing. there is a weathered them -- there is a weather system out there. it is moving east. you might notice, on the lower right side of the screen, there is a little pulsating ring. that is an indication that there was -- near richmond -- an earthquake, a magnitude 2.4 earthquake said about 5 miles deep in the ground. it was about 20 miles to the north of richmond, roughly 95 miles away from baltimore, at about 5:15 p.m.

lot to talk about after a spectacular fire at the old seagram's distillery on sollers point road. 60 firefighters were called in to fight the fire. the residents watched the fire burned. some have lived in the decade -- the neighborhood for decades. >> when mom and dad were alive, we would sit on the back porch. when the wind was right, you could smell the whiskey they were brewing and bottling. >> you could always smell when they were making whiskey. the byproduct that was turned over -- they dumped it into a great big vat. you could smell that all of the neighborhood. >> electricity was shut down in the area while workers took down the remaining wall. fire officials say this fire is suspicious, but investigators are still turn define the exact cause. anne arundel county police are investigating a serious incident involving a pedestrian.

it happened last night in the area of fort smallwood road. john o'conner was hit by a car while crossing the street. he was taken to shock trauma and is listed in critical condition. there is still investigating the accident. -- they are still investigating the accident. for more job opportunities in store for baltimore -- it began with a ribbon cutting ceremony. general motors took many dealerships away. bob del. was one of them. he fought back to get his franchise reinstated and he kicked off the opening of his new chevy store. it is located in baltimore city. it brings more than 100 jobs to the area and increases the tax base as well as support to local business. >> i think it is bad for everybody. i could say that we're back -- it is better for everybody.

coastal storms could transport something out of the great lakes. the forecast -- more cloudiness tonight and chilly, 45 to 50 overnight. will take hold -- that will tickle tomorrow. tomorrow afternoon, things will start to close in. clouds will cools down. northwest winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour. temperatures will remain in the 60's we will -- and the 60's. we will not make it into the 70's. there is the moisture it tomorrow. we start to fill in during the afternoon. it takes off overnight sending -- sunday into monday and even tuesday before getting some breaks. this involves pittsburgh as well. there is a chance of rain tomorrow. mostly cloudy skies, scattered showers, and cool. only in the 50's tomorrow during
