emerging about an apparent murder this morning. state police are searching for suspects in the stabbing of a man in his apartment. george spoke to a key witness tonight. >> we spoke with the man who lives across all from the victim here in westminster. he tells us what happened and what he's all right before he called 911. >> it was about 2:00 in the morning saturday when walter hurd a persistent knock at his door. it was a friend of 40-year-old steven thompson, who said he was in a part with him and needed assistance. he then saw hobson in a chair, blood running from his neck. maryland state police say hobson was stabbed. he wonders if the french could have done more to save hobson. >> i am just that that it had to happen to him that way. i think he could have got some

help, he might still be living today. >> it is unclear if police questioned this mysterious friend. they say they interviewed residents in the 13 other apartments. >> a lot of banging, screaming, and hollering, but i could not make out what they were saying. >> hobson lived alone in apartment 5 on the second floor. state police say he was unemployed. authorities don't know why someone would want stephen thompson dead. >> police in and around a county are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death -- police in anne arundel county. they found the body of 41-year- old roy jackson. an autopsy is expected to take place soon. state fire officials say a 74- year-old somerset county man has died in a fire at his home.

officials at paul tyler got his wife out of their burning home this morning but he went back inside to retrieve some bill on these. firefighters found his body on the second floor. no word on the cause of the fire -- went back inside to retrieve some belongings. >> kind of nice to get out from under the rain. a little on the cool side today, but more rain comes back into the forecast. the rain is just coming into west virginia. you can see a little circulation and a trent -- twist in those radar echoes there. that is an area of low pressure. there's also one along the coast and will introduce some tropical moisture coming into this particular storm. we will get squeezed from to ends. would ascribe all this and find out what happens to the west be due to the rest of the weekend, coming up wh the forecast. >> water damage from this week's rains have forced closure of a

building on the liberty campus. classes in other buildings on the campus will be held as scheduled. neighbors in dundalk catalog to talk about after a spectacular fire at the old seagrams plant. it is right across the street from dundalk senior high school. the plant was built in the early 1900's and was used to mix and bottle alcohol until shutdown 20 years ago. 60 firefighters were called in to fight the fire. when it was over, only one wall of the building was left standing. >> when mom and dad were alive, we become at and sit on the back porch and when the wind was right, you could actually smell of whiskey that they were brewing and bottling there. >> you could always smell when they were making whiskey. the byproduct, they dumped it into a big vat, and you could smell that all over the neighborhood.

beginning to tap a little bit of that tropical moisture sitting down there. these two things are going to come together right over the atlantic region and bring us a chance for rain. does not look like downpour we had on thursday and friday, but it is additional rain on top of the several inches, multiple injuries we had tuesday and then again thursday and friday. today, no rain, and it was very pleasant out there. a lot of sunshine. we were close to the typical high of 72. it was nice to have a day where we did not have a rain threat. things are shaking down around richmond or north of there by 20 miles. there was a magnitude 3 earthquake there this afternoon. it was only felt in the

neighborhood of around where the earthquake was, 95 miles away from baltimore. that does not have much around this area. right now annapolis is 57, 52 at easton, 62 at ocean city. westminster is down to 48 and over 40's on in four western maryland as well. -- in far western maryland. a little warm front is just passing north of us, but the air is really dry. it has been very chilly out there and will be chilly overnight tonight. the key is, these two things are going to come together, and an easterly wind is going to pump a lot of moisture in here. some from the tropics and some just being stirred up by the low pressure center around us. the jet stream is lined up to help pull some of this moisture

from this out into our area. storms generally develop on the southeast portion of the jet stream on the upswing, and that is what you see the result of right here. we are in for a little more rain. overnight tonight it will not happen. scattered clouds moving into the picture, 45-54 the low, 63-67 tomorrow and cloudy. showers developing most likely in the afternoon and evening hours. northeast winds at 5-10 miles an hour. northeast winds on the day, gusting to 20. the weather service has issued small craft advisory is out on the open waters of the day. 72 at the harbour, thomas point lighthouse 71, and the water temperature has dropped down to 69. has not been quite as warm.

here is the futurecast. we see that disturbance of to the northwest, and and a hint of green down here in cape hatteras. by noon on sunday, the rain is still south and west of us but we will be picking up a few scattered clouds here and there. the rain chances increase as we get into the afternoon, coming from both the west and the south. as we go into monday, that is when the heaviest rains will be occurring around the area. we might get an inch or so out of this added to the already soaking ground that we have. the rain chances extended -- extended to tuesday as well, but it looks like this will play itself out by wednesday. hines field, 1:00 tomorrow afternoon in philadelphia, at temperatures only in the 50's. north winds at 5-10 miles an hour. let's look at the seven-day
