story tonight, mission accomplished. we watched it began live last night. tonight, the end of a nearly 24- hour rescue mission in chile. >> just after 8:00 our time, the 33rd miner trapped 2,300 feet below ground was hoisted to freedom. here is a live scene outside the san jose copper and gold mine. the celebration has now well down, but over the past day, scenes of jubilation erupted each of the 33 times that rescue capsule rodham minor to the surface. miner to theht a surface. >> the 33rd men stepped from the capsule and led the crowd in the loudest and most emotional rendition of the national anthem of chile that has ever been sung.

the first miner emerged and that hug his adorable 7-year-old son. trap more than 2,000 feet below ground, each of the 33 men appears to be doing as well as could be expected. they have all been taken to the hospital tonight as a precaution, but again, amazingly, those 33 men appeared to have survived something no one would have imagined was possible. >> it's over, all 33 of the miners have been rescued. it took more than 1000 engineering minds to figure out how to get down to those men, 2,040 feet in the earth. that pulled it off, and now this country and the world celebrates that the impossible is possible. >> the last man up is the

leader, who in the first 17 days when the men were cut off from the outside world told them they should conserve the two days of food that they had an ration its, two spoonfuls of food per man, peaches and tuna. that kept them alive. they made contact with the surface, a team of american drillers came in and made it down to the men. the phoenix capsule was tested, retested, and it worked. in the end, the ride up was taking less than 10 minutes. what was once thought impossible, the 33 men arriving, is now true. a celebration in chile. >> each of the mint has a very unique story. one became a grandfather

underground, and other proposed to his girlfriend, and then there was the man who had a wife and mistress crying over him. they did not know about each other. >> it certainly was a long journey for those miners who all appear to be in relatively good health. and annapolis company is partly to thank for that. >> they monitored vital signs through the entire process, and those monitors are from maryland. >> the rescue of the trapped miners in chile has captured the attention of the world. nearly a world away, in annapolis, one company had a hand in their safe return to ground level. the zebra technologies said 15 status monitors to chile. the men took turns wearing them underground.

>> we were monitoring them then, and the doctors above for watching their vital signs whatever exercising. >> they are also wearing the devices which strap around their chest while they were ascending to the surface. it uses an eeg signal to measure vital signs and send that information to a computer. also measures body position and activity level and put it into an easy to read format. >> there is an icon here that shows that i am leaning back in my chair and moving around a lot. if i stop moving, the brackets will go away. >> doctors have been watching the vital signs of the men closely for the last several weeks to make sure they have kept up with their exercise and are doing okay physically. the zephyr technology staff -- for the folks above, it gives them some indication on how they are doing on the ascent and they

out withdrawal from tracy's bank account just days after her disappearance. there was activity on a here-z past. >> the relationship will never be known, unfortunately. >> in howard county, a 7-year- old girl walked home from a playground. she said she was sexually assaulted by four men. it happened in colombia. police said that is when four men allegedly grabbed her and sexually assaulted her. the group reported an incident to the family -- reported the incident to a family member. police search anyone who have information to give them a call. a 21-year-old man is behind bars tonight, charged with second- degree murder in the stabbings of three students and his 23- year-old brother. police say the four victims started fighting inside a bar at

falsified documents. the lawsuit filed on them and to other maryland residents accuses for maryland attorneys of falling in valid for closure documents by not signing the paper work themselves. the lawsuit claims that the practice caused hundreds if not thousands of inaccurate documents to be filed as part of foreclosure proceedings before maryland state courts. >> there was brought all the way through this. -- there was fraud all we through this. everyone of them falsified these documents by having people sign for them and the signatures never messed up. >> 11 news was not able to reach any of the attorneys listed in the suit. one attorney says as many as 10,000 people could be affected in the state of maryland. >> i will never be able to get my house back.

his family orchestrated through unconventional means. kerry cavanaugh is like tonight at johns hopkins to explain. >> most people in need of an organ transplant go to the national registry, but that typically takes three to five years, which is why more and more patients are turning to private online matching services. 17-year-old adam mccleskey is getting some intense bonding time with his mom. he has been talking with her since september when he traveled to baltimore to undergo a kidney transplant. >> the matchas six-years in the making. adam was born with polishes the kidney disease, a genetic condition that took the life of his sister. kelly donated one of her kidneys to adam in 2004. >> adam's body rejected the damaged kidney, which made it unlikely he would arrive another

the high pressure moves out and the storm track ride across virginia and toward the coast, and then intensified and move up the coast. pockets of moderate to heavy rain indicated by the computer models, and walnut, the storm starts to move offshore and strengthen. it moves up the coast of maine, and that is a little bit of snow forecast to mix into the rain in the adirondacks in the berkshires and upstate new york. this will be cold air wrapping around a storm system on friday as it is pulling away. and we may pick up an additional show were friday afternoon. breezy and dry with sunshine returning for the upcoming weekend. tomorrow it will be cool, high staying in the pit depots. a small craft advisory on the bay tomorrow.

bob ehrlich says he wants to fix maryland. but he increased state spending by record amounts. ehrlich raised $3 billion in taxes and fees... including property taxes... and a 40% increase in college tuition. and now he's made over $1 billion in new promises... with no plans to pay for them... except for cutting education. cuts that will lay off teachers and increase class sizes. that's not a budget. and bob ehrlich's not the kind of leader... we can trust.

i'm frank kratovil and i approve this message. the real andy harris. his past attacks have been called deceptive, his new attack, false. harris voted for deregulation increasing our electric bills by 72% it's not surprising, harris always sides with the big guys. he opposes cracking down on wall street and supports tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. harris even opposed making big insurance cover cancer screenings. andy harris' extreme ideas will cost us.
