>> we began with the developing story involving a new baltimore city teachers' contract. >> we have learned from tim tooten, who has been falling this story, that the contract was narrowly rejected. teachers began voting yesterday, and while the contract would have included a pay raise, some of those against it took issue with the new way that teachers were evaluated. here is how the voting rights down. 42% were in favor of the new contract. it was defeated when 1540, no. 88% voted against it. there is expected to be a news conference tomorrow morning, when we should learn more, including what the next decade maybe. the current contract expires on october 28. three edgewood high school students face charges after a fight on school grounds. >> the fight broke out tuesday

morning inside the school. police say one of the suspects threw bleach at another student during the attack. kai reed has details from edgewood high school. >> police are still investigating exactly what started the fight here at edgewood high school, but it ended with two girls being splashed in the face with bleach, and the suspect faces some very serious charges. the fight broke out in and edgewood high school hallway before classes started tuesday morning. police say three girls approach to others and exchanged brought -- exchanged words. according to one of the mothers of one of the girls, -- and the victim's parents don't want to be identified because they fear for their daughter safety. the mother said her car was treated for a concussion and several other industrieinjuries.

>> according to the harford county sheriff's office communications officer, some teachers and staff suffered minor injuries trying to break up the fight. a school resource officer called for backup. >> there were teachers there immediately, and efforts to pull them apart, they were thrown to the ground during the altercation as well. >> the three teenage students are being charged as juvenile. edgewood high school officials issued a statement saying appropriate disciplinary action is being taken with the students involved. the victim's mother says she warned school officials that her daughter had been threatened by the suspects days before the attack. >> i fear for my child. i don't trust the school anymore. i don't trust them to protect my child. >> according to police, there is video of the fight taken from a surveillance camera. the video was used as part of the investigation. kai reed, wbal-tv 11 news. >> in carroll county tonight,

two men are dead, and police are calling it a murder-suicides. it happened earlier today in 1500 block of pilgrim lane. police are still trying to figure out exactly what sparked the dispute, but they think it stemmed from a typical neighborhood argument like cutting the grass. 48-year-old stephen potts was found in his driveway just after midnight. >> the suspect all the victim into his driveway this morning. a confrontation occurred. the suspect shot the victim, we believe multiple times. >> the gunman, 51-year-old gregory martin, was found this morning behind the home of his estranged wife. he was lying next to a handgun when he was down. in west baltimore, a late-night shooting turned deadly. police said up 56-year-old man, sherman pain, was shot last night. he was taken to shock trauma where he was pronounced dead. there is no word on who shot him

or why. >> jurors in the day listening to testimony from the league deputy in that tracy tetso murder trial. her husband dennis is on trial for murder, although tracy's body has never been found. lowell melser has more. >> as lead investigator in tracy tetso's disappearance, the detective knew every detail about the case, and thursday told the jury all about it. the detective first interviewed dennis tetso on march 9, 2005, three days after tracy's disappearance. the detective testified that tetso told him he was home the day tracy went missing, washing his trucks. he said dennis told him that tracy had returned home from the store at around 2:00 in the afternoon on march 6, when in their home, and then he never saw her again. he then said that around 6:30

that evening, he went inside the house to take a shower, and he noticed that it tv that was on in the living-room was off, and bertrand them was gone. the detective checked his cellphone are records and notice that to call for made in the glen burnie area about a mile from where her trance them was found weeks later. the detective went back and asked dennis about this and he said he had forgotten he had run an area -- run an errand that day at cycle world in anne arundel county. the detective found that his friends that he was actually at dennis's residence the day tracy went missing, something that dennis also forgot to tell him. earlier in the day, next door neighbors testified that they saw dennis days after tracy's disappearance rigging downed fliers that friends and loved ones had posted in the neighborhood -- whipping down ripping down flyers.

>> the state expects to rest its case tomorrow. firefighters took more than an hour to control a blaze. the three people inside the house are okay, thanks to a neighbor who saw the flames and called for help. >> we have called for the american red horscrossed for th. the house's 100% destroyed. >> one firefighter was taken to an area hospital. his injuries or unclear. the cause of the blaze is still unknown. we will update you as information becomes available. skyteam 11 was over another house fire today and owings mills. by the time firefighters arrived, the home was completely engulfed in flames. no one was injured. fire officials are still working on damage estimates.

through parts of dorchester county and caroline county and just getting up to parts of anne arundel county. about the same amount at the inner harbor, and temperatures have been cooling off period this afternoon the low was 44, but we have dropped a little further. it will be chilly as we head into the early morning hours. the storm is moving up the coast now, producing a soggy night in new england. behind that is starting to tap into some chilly air and a few additional showers coming out of eastern ohio that will swing through here during the afternoon tomorrow. temperatures are in the 40's and almost in to the 30's in pennsylvania. the cool air is invading western maryland and by morning, 44-51 degrees with the northwest breeze at 15. it will feel a little chillier than the thermometer indicates.

gusts of 35 miles an hour are possible. intensifying storms on the coast, and the air gets squeezed then so the winds will be brisk, continuing into saturday. you can see tropical storm paula down there on the north coast of cuba. there is the storm tomorrow off the coast of new england, producing heavy rain there and widely scattered showers around here in the afternoon. some snow mixes then with the rain in amounts of vermont and new hampshire and perhaps the adirondacks in upstate new york. heavy rain transitioning over to some early season snows, and gusty winds buffeting our region as the dry air filters in for the upcoming weekend. a slight 30% chance of an isolated shower popping up tomorrow. small craft advisories are up on the bay. a chilly day with some showers in the mountains tomorrow and gusty winds, and some nice

weather settling in for the weekend out near deep creek lake. the same scenario at the lower eastern shore, early morning sun at a couple of scattered afternoon showers, and gusty winds as well. if you are heading up i-95 into new england for the ravens and patriots game on sunday, when is gusting to 30 as their kicking off the afternoon. the wins will make it feel even cooler. they should have lots of sunshine, and we will keep an eye on the remnants of tropical storm paula. it is making its way across the north shore of cuba heading toward the bahamas. the wins have come down to 45 miles an hour and it should continue to weaken over the upcoming weekend. 61 tomorrow, 64 for the baltimore running festival on saturday. winds out of the northwest saturday, but it is pushing it
