recovering after they were overcome by carbon monoxide. authorities say all seven people inside the home are able to escape, but five of them had high levels of carbon monoxide in their system. they were taken to the university of maryland medical center and placed in a hyperbaric chamber. we are told they are all in stable condition. a fire inside a dundalk home has left a 54-year-old woman in critical condition tonight. flames broke out or around 6:30 a.m. in the basement of the home. three people were rescued from the second-floor but crews there on the injured woman in the basement. they believe she suffered burns and smoke inhalation. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. in denver, skiers are hitting the slopes for the first time this season. a look at the snowfall, still ahead. plus a nationwide recall on beef sticks.

public safety is a governor's most important job. that's why governor martin o'malley has instituted new dna and fingerprinting technology that's reducing violent crime... new, stronger domestic violence and abuse legislation... and o'malley passed new laws to better track and convict sexual predators, with even longer prison sentences. as a father of four, i know there's always more that we must do to protect our children and make maryland an even safer place to raise our families.
