seven-day forecast in a few minutes but first to sarah and see what is happening on the roads. >> some improvement to report for motorists on southbound 95 just past 195. we had an accident with an overturned vehicle and several other vehicles. that is off to the shoulder. you see a bit of delay from the beltway to the accident scene but all lanes are getting by. now to another problem northbound 95 ramp to the outer loop an accident and another with respect at 216 and 29 in howard county. reisterstown route 30 at mount gilead a vehicle fire reported. rest of the roads looking pretty good. 12 minutes through the stretch to the accident scene southbound 95 from the beltway southwest to 32. 11 minutes north side. 12 on the west side. things are lacking good on the -- looking good around delaney valley and easting on the north side. much improved from 5:00. that is the latest on "traffic pulse 11".

>> our big story as early voting continues in maryland the gubernatorial race is heating up. bob ehrlich got a big endorsement from rudy giuliani. kim dacey is live in federal hill with the story. >> rudy jerusalem and bob ehrlich -- giuliani and bob ehrlich came together yesterday. he told a modest crowd of ehrlich supporters they need to put the former governor back in office. he took swings at democrat governor martin o'malley calling him the most anti-business governor in america. o'malley was in southern montgomery county yesterday and defended himself against giuliani's claims. >> your debt and your taxes and your expenses are going up and up and up. >> we have cut our state government spefrpding by more than -- spending by more than

will be on their side. >> america is on fire to fire pelosi. >> fresh from a rally this weekend in florida republican party chair michael steele takes his fire pelosi bus tour to rhode island today. he is predicting a wave of anti-democratic voting november 2. >> i have seen a consistent ground swell of excitement and energy toward the election. the voters are tired of the fact that the federal government hasn't listened to them. >> republicans need to pick up 39 seats to take control of the house, 10 to win the senate. a recent associated press poll shows the g.o.p. may have a good shot at the house with half of those surveyed saying they will back a republican while 43% say they will support the democrat. in the senate democrats are seen as having the edge. democratic party chairman tim kane says his party's efforts

officials were called to this elkridge home on main street just after mid knight saturday morning -- midnight. four adults and three children were treated. we are told five of them had high levels of carbon monoxide in their system. firefighters say this case proves the importance of having a working c.o. detector. >> to those individuals who have goes heat in their homes it is to ensure their carbon monoxide detectors are working, check the batteries to ensure they are working so you get the early detection. >> everyone inside the home is listed in stable condition. it is still a misery as to what -- mystery to what caused a fire in baltimore. joanne julian was in the basement of her home on yorkway around 6:30 sunday morning. they believe that is where the fire started. three others inside the home were rescued from the second

floor. >> instead of celebrating his birthday friends and family of a detective will lay him to rest. funeral services will be held for brian stevenson. he was killed two weekends ago after a dispute over a parking pace in canton. sean james is being held without bond on murder charges. funeral arrangements are in place for another fallen city police officer. a public viewing will be held for tommy ports tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the ruck funeral home in towson. he was killed last week when mihis car slammed into a fire truck. shots fired have sent a man to the hospital. a 20-year-old victim was wounded saturday night in the 2100 block of east monument. no word on a suspect or motive. a similar mystery hyped another shooting that wounded three people last night. they rang out just before 7:00 sun night long east 20th and

kennedy avenue. one was hit in the stomach, a second in the leg and a third in both the leg and stomach. no word on their conditions this morning. >> a new york congressman wants youtube to pull the plug on an accused terrorist video message anthony weiner calls on the company to take down hundreds of videos featuring anwar al awlaki who is linked to other acts of terrorism. the congressman says he doesn't think his request impedes freedom of speech. >> there are clear free speech issues at play on the internet. that is not what this is about. there is about a corporate citizen saying we are going to do the right thinking to protect our other customers who are not terrorists. this is somebody who is using the service to spread hate and doing it effectively. he has follow eers, 3.5 million views, 700 videos. it is about time it end.

that some of that rain will catch up to us. you will likely deal with a little bit of it on the way home from work this afternoon. high pressure off the coast is producing a southwest wind so while we expect some of this rain to move in the temperatures will be mild. the average high this time of year is 64. we will be in the low 70's this afternoon. so it is a pretty decent forecast. thicken i thickening clouds, a best chance of rain this afternoon and evening. the highs between 69 and 74. overnight rain showers likely. there could be a few thunderstorms this evening. upper 50's, seven-day forecast just a 20% chance of a shower on tuesday with a high near 75. better chance of showers on wednesday and thursday. then it will cool off going into the weekend. we expect a high of 59 on friday and at this point it looks like halloween on sunday will be dry with a high of 68. that is not bad for halloween. that is the seven-day.

now let's see what is happening on the roads at 6:17 with sarah. >> kind of busy now that we have an accident southbound on the j.f.c. just past the beltway. we had an accident on thursday if you remember and that was really a major headache for motorists. we are starting this week with a new accident. just past the beltway. we will let you know when we find out more. park heights at shade avenue in pikesville an accident there. >> and fire activity blocking conkling street at pulaski. fayette also closed there. southbound 95 past 195 an accident still clearing from the shoulder and delays in that area but for the most part getting by. 216 at 29 an accident. delaney valley delays forming perhaps leading up to j.f.x. 95 things are moderating there. looking better there southbound. that is the latest on "traffic

pulse 11." >> looking at some of the top stories, several people are injured after a tornado cut across a highway in north texas. it tears through it highway in rice which is near dallas. the same system spawned several other tornadoes which damaged several homes and a school. they are calling for clear skies now. in ohio a national guard sole died four days after being injured in a parachute accident during a training exercise. he was one of four hospitalized after a jump at a base wednesday. officials say a wind gust caught their chutes causing them to hit the ground hard. one of them crashed on to the airport tarmac. a few years ago you may railroad remember -- a remember a girl with the case of the hiccups that wouldn't go away. she is now 19 and is in the spotlight again but this time on charges of first degree murder. police in st. petersburg say she led a woman into an ambush who

was shot and killed. all three suspects in the case are charged with murder. >> higher gas prices bring more pain to the pump. they jumped more than five cents in the last two weeks and are up 13 cents the last month according to the lundberg survey. the nickel increase is tied to higher crude prices. mcdonald's dollar menu may look smaller because the chain is planning to raise menu prices for the first time in more than a year. company officials say it is due to projections the price of meat, wheat and other commodities will rise between 2% and 3% next year. they recently reported a 10% increase in third quarter earnings. as of october sales, they appear to be strong. it may get harder to find a prime cut of meat at the local

grocer. delaware's wilmington trust may be up for sale. jane king has that and more in the bloomberg business report. wilmington trust is said to be seeking a buyer. sources say it has been contacting bigger lenders to gauge interests. sources say bank of montreal is one that has been approach. wilmington which is 107 years old has reported five straight quarterly losses driven in part by soured real estate loans. as for stocks, friday we had a mixed close, dow dragged down by losses of verizon and american express. the maryland index was higher with gains for t. rowe price. shares soared more than $2. it boosted third quarter earnings 27%. it has not money since going

bob ehrlich pretends to be for the working guy... but he's not on our side. i thought i knew bob ehrlich, but then i found out... he raised property taxes on every maryland family... and business. he increased college tuition... by 40%. 40%. and i thought i knew bob ehrlich. he was against raising the minimum wage. made $2.5 million... working for a lobbying firm. $2.5 million? he's not really on my side. with this tough economy, we really need a governor on our side.

giuliani was there encouraging voters to put the former governor back in office. kim dacey has more on the story. >> early voting is going on now and the election is next week and both candidates are trying to garner last-minute votes. the two self-described golfing buddies rudy giuliani and bob ehrlich joined forces at a northern montgomery county farm to take swings at governor o'malley. >> o'malley has been a failure. probably the most anti-business governor in america. >> giuliani told a modest crowd that they need to put the former governor back into office. >> your debt and your taxes and your expenses are going up and up and up. >> martin o'malley was in southern montgomery county. he was asked why people would care what giuliani has to say. >> i don't know. we had mike bloomberg who came to bethesda and endorsed me so i guess the former governor felt

information. click on politics at the top of the home page. >> a glen burnie man opposed to slots, police have arrested the map with theft after he allegedly stole more than 70 signs in favor of putting slots at the hanover mall location. he was knocking over a campaign sign and was arrested. they noticed a considerable uptick in vandalism. >> it came to a head about a week ago when we noticed that about 300 or 400 in two nights were taken, vandalized, destroyed. >> police say they found about 70 signs in the back of his truck and they believe he may be linked to other sign thefts throughout the county. >> a 27-year-old man is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl in frederick. authorizes arrested jose vasquez fernandez after being told he was preparing to leaf for el

salvador. he is held without bail. >> baltimore is taking another crack at mortgage lender wells fargo. it is accusing the bank of increasing foreclosures by using racist predatory lending practices against blacks latinos. a federal judge dismissed two previous complaints. wells fargo officials have repeatedly denied the charges and will fight the lawsuit. >> it is looking like a rush hour out there with delays and accidents. we will start in pikesville at park heights and shade offense. you see the yellow on the west side delays stretching back to 795 to i-70. conkling shut down at pulaski. fire department activity. 216 and 29 an accident location. 15 minutes on the outer loop west side. no significant delays on the northeast outer loop. we will show what you it is like at green spring.

trauma being being exposed to carbon monoxide in a howard county home. officials were called to the hole in elkridge just after midnight saturday morning. we are told five of the victims had high levels of carbon monoxide in their systems and they are all listed in stable condition this morning. the family of a fallen firefighter who died in a training exercise will be receiving survivor benefits. after petitioning u.s. attorney general the children of rachel wilson will get more than $300,000 in benefits. they were initially denied because city fire officials didn't submit the proper paperwork. wilson died in february of 2007 after being trapped during a live burn exercise. that is now stopped. a new york congressman wants youtube to pull the plug on accused terrorist videotape messages. anthony weiner to take them down

ehrlich in the race for maryland governor yesterday. kim dacey is live with that story. >> rudy giuliani and bob ehrlich came together at a northern montgomery county county farm yesterday. giuliani told a crowd of supporters they need to put the former governor back into office. he took swings at democrat governor martin o'malley calling him the most anti-business governor in america. o'malley was in southern montgomery county yesterday and defended himself against giuliani's claims. both campaigns fielded more questions about recent polls showing very different margins between the candidates. a "baltimore sun" poll released this weekend has o'malley up by 14 but ehrlich aides say those "baltimore sun" poll numbers are nowhere close to his campaign's internal numbers. back to you. >> coming up today on oprah in an instant a car accident shattered their lives and then one year later an absolutely miraculous twist of fate.
