[captioning made possible by constellation energy group] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> this is wbal-tv 11 news. >> a dutch village family back home after the tornado. it is not the first time they have dealt with a disaster in the subdivision. less than three years after her home was destroyed by fire, a baltimore woman is picking up the pieces after the tornado. our reporter joins us live. >> her first home was destroyed three years ago in january 2008. the family dealt with a tornado that ripped through the same neighborhood. her family has been affected by another disaster. this single working mother is still in good spirits. >> this was really sir real when i saw this again.

>> in 2008, she lost everything when a fire destroyed her home. the fire started in a neighboring unit and spread to her. douglas says the flames were so bad, she and her kids had to escape through the back. >> i did not expect it because i did not cause the fire. i definitely did not cause this. >> after the fire, she moved to a nearby unit in dutch village and started over. not even three years later, she is trying to wrap her head around another disaster. >> it was raining real hard, wind and leaves and everything was rolling through the air. >> a tornado touched down wednesday morning, leaving behind a path of destruction. although her home was not damaged, she and her family were evacuated because of a gas leak threat. >> we did not know we were not going home that night. i did not stay in the shelter,

but they offered for us to stay there. it was a warm place to stay. >> douglas's in good spirits and grateful to the american red cross. >> the red cross was there for me before anybody came for me. it was good that they called me. do you need anything? the help i have gotten since my first tragedy, they just did not leave me. they helped me once again. >> something her son is also grateful for. >> they helped us after the tornado and help us get out of the house during the fire. >> we are alive. we came out and saw the roof off. i knew god was good. when we heard that no one got hurt, definitely got as good. >> she is active in the local red cross. she has shared her experience at

various events across the area. wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. clean-up continues after the tornado that devastated many in north baltimore. some are allowed back in apartments to retrieve belongings. others are still waiting. mt. pleasant residents are still waiting for legal issues to work out so they can get back in. some are not happy about how long this process is taking. >> nobody is giving us answers. we have been out here since this tragedy occurred, trying to look for somewhere to go. there is nothing out here for us. >> the red cross is working hard to keep those families safe. it hopes to give the families who lost their homes and kneel on thanksgiving day. the photos are dramatic. the pieces are coming back together after the tornado hit. take a look of the damage and

find out how the residents are being helped. go to wbaltv.com. traffic is moving on i-95 after police to shut down all lanes to investigate the possibility of a suspicious package. authorities say a passenger on a commercial bus became ill and believed there was an explosive on board. police and shut down i-95 to investigate. in the end, they found nothing. police are investigating a triple shooting and a west baltimore that killed a 29-year- old man. the three men were shot friday night in the 1500 block of poplar grove street. one man was shot in the chest and died from his injuries. two others were taken to local hospitals. there is no word on a possible motive. the search continues for the man who shot and killed a 19-year- old in southwest baltimore. he was shot around 5:00 this evening. he was rushed to a local hospital, where he died. no word on a motive.

weeks after losing to governor martin o'malley, the republican is keeping quiet on the election night rowboat calls. he was the mystery guest on his wife's radio show. during the break, they asked about those zero calls -- robo calls. he had no comment. the calls were intended to keep democrats from voting. callers were critical of his campaign. if you're planning on traveling, be prepared for changes. airport will be busy and all passengers will undergo security measures. >> there are long lines at los angeles ridge los angeles international airport. the new super security measures are adding to stress. >> it is a ridiculous waste of time. >> with an estimated 1.6 million people expected to fly this

>> 12 children will begin a new chapter today, being officially adopted at the baltimore county courthouse. one student has spent her time and money to make a special, giving the children may and may picture, gift, and letter. a photographer has volunteered to take the very first family photo.

>> we had another bonus they where the temperature shot way up. harbor, 62. 55 is more typical for this time of year. morning highs were in the 30's and 40's. the sunshine did a nice thing today. temperatures are dropping this evening and they won't recover much during the day tomorrow. we will talk about the change. 43 mccain bridge. frederick, 43. 30's in far western maryland right now. a couple of bright -- a couple of bands of clouds. they are across the area this evening. they are associated with a cool front trying to split to the south. no rain in these clouds. the atmosphere is too dry for that. the front will slide to the south. the area is cooler behind the front. tomorrow not the same as today. we will see cooler temperatures coming from the east instead of

the south. that will have an impact on what is going on. the jet stream is keeping most of the storm activity riding far north. that is why the front will not be very effective. the jet in the eastern half of the country is going to the north and not giving us stormy weather. it is driving low to the west. it is stormy out there. this dip in the jet stream will slide further east. as we get through the middle part of next week, the weather will change significantly. tonight, mostly clear skies. 34-42. northeast winds at 5 to 10. the wind is becoming more easterly. that will help to cold temperatures and bring clouds and to the temperature for a time being. the front will be to the south of us. monday, the front goes back north again. up and down with the weather. sun and clouds to give -- more. cold temperatures. 50 to 54 for the high purities winds at 5 to 10 m.p.h.
