good morning. i am mindy basara. >> i am lisa robinson. thank you for joining us this morning. >> tony pann has a quick look at today's forecast. think it will be a big deal. here could be some coating on some of the side streets. temperatures are above freezing. the scattered nature of the snow that i'm talking about, bursts of snow showers and flurries will be coming through the drive times. there could be some slippery spots. most areas or above freezing. north andwatching us west, there could be some slippery areas on and treated roads -- untreated roads. high temperatures will be in the low to mid 30's and will probably fall into the 20's by

the time you drive home for more. let's check on the roads with sarah caldwell. >> that could be the case. we have an accident at old philadelphia road in aberdeen. watch for delays and possible lane closures. looking good on 95 coming out of the northeast. route 80, we have some downed wires and all lanes are closed. that is in the mount airy region. south street, watch for closures there. 24 miles per hour on the outer loop. 33 towards 795. some spots where it is starting to get sluggish already this morning. in the next few minutes, this is liberty. this is outer loop traffic. still moving pretty well. volume is building. this is 95 just south of the beltway.

so far so good. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> the cause of a deadly carbon monoxide leak is still under investigation. >> officials believe the poisonous gas may have come from a furnace. george lettis has more from police headquarters. good morning. >> the leak killed two people in a home in sykesville. the call came in just before 9:00 a.m. two bodies were found inside this home of pikesville. eight other people in the hall including three children became a very sick. they bore rushed to hospital along with three police officers. -- they were rushed to hospital. police think it could be connected to a gas furnace. >> it is sad that sometimes it takes this kind of thing to

understand that it is not costly to buy a carbon monoxide detector. they do save lives. >> if you develop dizziness or unconsciousness, get out of the house as quickly as possible and contact us. >> officials did not find a co detector in the home. the names of those victims were not released. george lettis, wbal-tv 11 news. >> both spans of route 50 are now open. fire crews responded to the westbound lanes near the 97 split. a tanker truck was leaking a chemical that reacted with water. officials say the driver was taken to shock trauma. the truck has been moved to a park and ride as crews continue to dispose of that chemical.

>> a fire at a storage facility in southwest baltimore happened just before 6:00 a.m. yesterday morning on russell street. police found heavy smoke and flames. >> somebody call me in the morning and somebody tell me about bad news. i want thisecause to happen. >> nobody was hurt. it's not clear how many storage units were damaged. a fire ripped through a home in anne arundel county. this happens in the forge a block of mclarin drive in glen bernie. two people were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries. >> an accident involving an accident sense four people to a

hospital. it happened on reisterstown road. two paramedics had minor injuries. the cause of the crash is under investigation. another crashed on saturday surely after 4:00 p.m. on harlem avenue. a pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. police have identified a man who died after crashing his car into an ellicott city house, setting both his car and the house on fire. two people inside the house or an outside and were not heard. the man lost control and ran off the side of the road. the car was traveling at a higher rate of speed. >> 17 people are killed in iraq

after a suicide bomber blew up his car. six police officers were among the dead. the attack injured at least 23 people. that compound has been attacked before. a cruise ship continues to be rocked by stormy weather. it was quite a nightmare for those aboard ship. >> and the boat pitched back and threw everybody back words. the whole boat and everybody was screaming. people were smashed into walls. >> the main concern is keeping all the passengers safe. will caribbean says the ship has full power -- royal caribbean says the ship has full power. nobody was reported injured. >> many parents enroll their children even before they are out of diapers. parents are convinced that

near minneapolis over the weekend. the storm socked the city with some residents not able to clear paths. several highways in several states were closed. also, snow proved too heavy for the inflatable roof of the metrodome, which collapsed. several panelists ruptured. the dome deflated and sagged as snow fell on the playing area. the matchup between the giants and vikings will now be played in a detroit. to stop on alcoholic drinks will be voted on today. the makers of four loko stopped

aberdeen. it involves a tractor-trailer. delays are expected. in mount airy, you could find delays around 80. downed pole has all lanes blocked in both directions. there are closures around baltimore street and south street. the rest of the major roadways are in good shape. 28 miles per hour plastic harrisburg expressway. it remains a kind of slow on the west side. this is a live view starting with a look of the west side of the beltway starting at liberty. so far so good on the outer loop. this is 95 in northeast at the beltway interchange. running smoothly. fort mchenry traffic and the harbor tunnel are looking good. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. now let's get the latest on the buses and the trains. for that we go to kurt kronke of the mta system. good morning. >> looking pretty good although a few bus plays include the 22

in some neighborhoods. the wind has shifted to the northwest. the arctic air has started to roll in. these will probably be the high temperatures for the day. i think we will hold steady or fall off. the cold front has finally swept through the area. the winds have shifted to the northwest. there is some cold air getting ready to sweep in here. is in the 30 's right here around home. four below zero in annapolis -- in minneapolis-st. paul. windy and cold with light snow flurries. temperatures in the low to mid- 30s right now but falling off maybe into the upper 20 's by the time we reached the evening hours. temperatures will drop into the teens or low 20's tonight. be prepared for that. a cold day on tuesday with a

trailer that old philadelphia road. police are directing in that area. a problem continues an issue for motorists in the mount airy region at maryland 80. all lanes are closed because of a downed pole. everything else looking good aside from a few slow spots. 27 miles per hour on the north side. still at 38 miiles per hour. we're seeing some sort spots than normal. 11 minutes on the outer loop northeast side. seven minutes from the 95 merge down towards the harbor tunnel tolls. beltway at the b-w parkway it looks pretty good. no delays on to london 95 down towards west nursery road. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. the back to you. >> 11 people including three police officers are recovering after a carbon monoxide leak. >> two were killed.

officials think the poisonous gas may have come from a furnace. george lettis has more from police headquarters. >> the leak killed two in a pikesville home. 11 others were sickened. the 911 call cabin just before 9:00 a.m. on sunday. two bodies were found inside this home on colby road. >> monitoring with gas meters and found carbon monoxide levels close to 400 parts per million. normally it is 10 parts per million. >> aides of the people in the home became very sick from the deadly gas, which is often called a silent killer. they were rushed to the hospital along with three police officers who were also affected. the leak is still under investigation. maybe connected to a gas

furnace. the number of carbon monoxide cases rises. it is important to have a detective. >> it is very scary and it's very alarming and it's sad that sometimes it takes this kind of thing for people to understand that it's not costly to go buy a carbon monoxide detector. and those type of things do save lives. >> and to know the symptoms of the poisoning. >> if you develop any symptons -- lightheadedness, dizziness, certainly unconsciousness, get out of the house as quickly as possible and contact us via 911. >> officials did not find a detector in the home. officials have not released the names of the victims. live in baltimore county, george lettis, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the search continues for the person who stabbed three people in glen bernie. police say it appears a group of people were at a house party when a fight broke out shortly after midnight on sunday.

the three victims were taken to area hospitals. police are investigating a deadly shooting in southwest baltimore. officers responded to north road around 5:00 a.m. yesterday. an unidentified woman was found shot multiple times. she later died at shock trauma. >> police have identified four people at the center of a dog- fighting ring. they're charged with possession of narcotics and the intent to distribute. thousands of dollars of cash were found on the suspects at the time of the arrest. this happened on edgemont avenue. six dogs were found beaten and non nurse. it is not clear if the suspects will be charged in relation to those animals. the investigation is ongoing. >> the tax-cut compromise

president obama struck with republicans is again the focus in the nation's capital. >> key votes are set this week. kmart is live with more details. good morning. -- kate amara is live. >> the senate is expected to hold a test vote today. the tax-cut compromise president obama worked out with republicans is expected to come up with a vote in the senate today. the warehouse is confident the vote will pass. >> i don't think anybody wants to be responsible for taxes going up on january 1 because we could not come to a resolution. >> the deal extends the bush-era tax cuts for everyone for two years. some house democrats remain opposed to new estate taxes. >> i think it is possible the tax cut extension will be passed, but not with my vote to
