member and show pictures and videos. baltimore county fire officials are trying to figure out what caused carbon monoxide leak inside a home that killed two people eight others, including three children, became sick after poisonous gas leak inside the home of the board thousand block of colby road off reisterstown road -- 4000 block of colby road off reisterstown road. officials said that co levels in the home or 40 times higher than normal. >> someone entering with gas meters found that carbon monoxide levels were close to 400 parts per million. the threshold we're concerned with it normally is 10 parts per million. >> officials say there were no detectors in the home. the family was renting. the leak may have come from a gas furnace.

the driver of a tractor-trailer carrying hazardous chemicals is recovering at shock trauma after his rig sprung a leak. the driver spotted the leak and pulled over. it caused a small vapor cloud over the scene. no other injuries were reported. the baltimore man accused of plotting to blow up a military recruiting center is scheduled to appear in federal court today. antonio martinez is scheduled to attend a detention hearing at 1:30 this afternoon. prosecutors plan to argue that he is a flight risk and should be held pending trial. he was arrested last week during an fbi undercover sting operation when investigators say he tried to detonate a fake bomb at the armed services recruitment center. baltimore police of release the names of four people at the center of a dogfighting investigation. they are all charged with possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute. unless it is said that police

>> in this afternoon's "project economy" report, members of the state employees' benefits commission will begin voting on a host of proposals to find ou -- proposals on the maryland pension and health care system. it could use a five-year freeze on increases for retirees. it is expected to have a preliminary report when the general assembly convenes in january the compromise president obama struck with republicans is again the focus in the nation's capital today. a key vote is scheduled on capitol hill later this week. kate amara has the latest from washington. >> the tax-cut compromise president of all work out with republicans is expected for a vote in the senate today.

>> early this morning we have light snow showers and flurries. it put a coating on the ground in a couple of neighborhoods. now the the the system is pushing off to the south and east. they are getting snow at the beach. same thing in ocean city. now we're going to start looking off to the northwest. lake effect snow machines have turned on. some of the lake effect snow streamers will cross over the ridge tops this afternoon and into tonight. there is still a chance we could see snow flurries. we don't expect the commission except -- but don't expect accumulation except in the mountains. 29 miles per hour at the airport. the winds will gust closed at 30 m.p.h., and that will take 10 or 15 degrees after the actual temperature. at westminster, 15. this is what you want to dress for this afternoon. the actual temperatures up and

holding steady through the day. we started out in the low-to- mid-thirties. 31 in taneytown, 34 in rising sun. we might be able to sneak up one would agree, but i think the temperatures will start to fall in the late afternoon hours. there is a big push of arctic air from the northwest. 20 i cincinnati right now, 12 in chicago. one below zero in minneapolis- st. paul. the heavy arctic air mass is pushing to the east. this is about as warm as it is going to get between 30 and 36 at the present time. chance for a few several hours or snow flurries. tomorrow, breezy, cold, chance for snow flurries. wind chill will be in the single digits, to be prepared for that, especially kids at the bus stop.
