it was not a gas line or electrical glitch. they are trying to zero in on who started it and why. more than a week after fire ripped through several buildings on east baltimore street, the atf has provided answers about the five alarm blaze. tests indicate the fire was set by someone. >> it does not necessarily mean we are dealing with arson. it means there receive an involvement that played a part in this fire. that may or may not have been with intent. >> people who work in baltimore 's adult entertainment zone want answers. he co-owns the corner building. >> it could be anything from a homeless person or somebody getting up where it was closed off. if it was arson, i hope they punish them to the full extent, because there are dozens if not 50 families right now because of the fire who have nothing around

in mom burning, it was deemed an electrical fire last we. -- in mt. vernon. well, a homeless man is being treated at an area hospital after some of catching on fire outside of a canton grocery store. some of the man's possessions were left outside of the store after the fire. witnesses were horrified, but they didn't they could to help. >> a man's burning body. people in safeway were bringing bottles of water and dumping it on him. then the fire department came and watched his body down and put him in an ambulance. >> the victim is said to be in serious conditions. officials are trying to figure out exactly how the man caught fire. >> earlier tonight, an unidentified man was rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound after what police say could have been a home invasion. happened just after 7:00 p.m. in

east baltimore. we do know that a man was shot in the chest, but his condition is not known. the circumstances of that shooting are also still unclear. police are investigating. a west baltimore man was taken into custody after barricading themselves inside a house. that happened just after 8:00 a.m. this morning when police were called to the 1800 block of walled brook avenue -- walbrook avenue. when the swat team moved in, he walked out. there were no reports of injuries. police have not found a weapon. >> in baltimore county, a dog was found beaten and abused and left for dead. tonight, there remains a number of questions on answered. we have more on the story from the news room. any clues tonight as to who might be responsible? >> there are no clues as to who is responsible or where the dog came from. she appears to be two or three

police cruiser. around 7:30 a.m., a maryland transportation authority hoofficer was rear-ended by another car. he had minor injuries. >> at ft. mead, the doctor disobeyed orders to deploy to afghanistan because he questioned president obama's citizenship, has been determined guilty. he was accused of disobeying orders to meet with the superior and to report to fort campbell and the middle east. the 17 year veteran at faces years in prison after he is sent -- and dismissal from the army. the set -- the house has voted to repeal "don't ask don't tell". barney frank announced the 2501- 0-175 vote. the repeal has the backing of

a former south american government official has been sentenced to life in prison for plotting an attack at jfk airport in new york. abdul kadir, a former parliament member in guyana, was convicted earlier this year pure the fbi arrested the man in 2007 after an informant and a trip to the plot and recorded them discussing it. >> still had, find out while one mom has filed a lawsuit against a fast food giant. >> this is not an ice sculpture. what is it? >> they are a fundamental threat to the lives of infants and young children. >> starting soon, they will be banned. >> the dangers of carbon monoxide. that story coming up. >> snow headed in this direction.

died and 11 were taken to the hospital. >> the smoke pipe to beo off so you can clean inside the chimney. >> a retired firefighter showed us one of the main causes of carbon monoxide -- the chimney. >> that's a cracked chimney lining. unless a technician comes out and service the furnace, they have to take the smoke pipe out from the chimney so they can be able to see whether or not the chimney is open it so that no carbon monoxide comes into the house. >> he says that every year they need to have their furnace and jimmy check. >> it is a silent killer. causes headaches and sleepiness. once they go to sleep, they do not wake up.

chilly. 18 in westminster. 15 in frostburg. heading towards morning, the skies will be clear and the winds will be down around five miles per hour. the temperatures will fall just before sunrise. sunrise at 7:20. 12-20 degrees. the national weather service has expanded the winter weather advisory. it has been advanced north to include anne arundel and howard counties. not quite to baltimore debt, but the storm track is shifted further to the north. the more substantial snow may make it up here. we are talking a one to three inch snowfall tomorrow afternoon. some snow and southwest ohio and the southwest part of virginia. the clear skies now. we will start early tomorrow. a peak at sun.

clouds will then increas. e. looks like it will stay sell the bus, so the heavy band of snow will be self of us, across eastern virginia and south maryland. as we head towards lunchtime tomorrow, and the afternoon rush-hour, that is when trouble may start. just south of annapolis at 11:00 a.m. in the morning, pushing to baltimore at noon time and covering most of the state. moderate snow to the south of us. that will carry us into the thursday evening rush hour, with snow showers lingering into tomorrow night before the wind down. if the storm stays on track, the potential is there for a couple inches of snow. it is a fast moving, low pressure system to our south. this light blue shaded area. you can see that most spots in maryland have a shot at an inch.

i would not be surprised if some spots ended up with two-four inches down south. in the afternoon and evening, it could complement -- complicates travel. the snow should begin around midday and carry us into the evening. out west, colder and three to five inches of snow. around the bay, the more substantial the snow may be. on average, one to three inches. on the lower easter shore, the two to four inch range. it is looking like an accumulating snow moving to tomorrow afternoon. tuen ne in tomorrow morning. 29 degrees for the afternoon high. as the storm moves out tomorrow night, we will see some sunshine
