14-year-old hassanhii garrett admitted to police that he attacked his grandmother in their home yesterday morning. he reportedly told police he was angry about the way she had been treating him but he is charged as an adult with attempted murder, assault, and use of a deadly weapon. we will have the latest at 5:00 and 6:00. baseball hall of famer and orioles great brooks robinson is recovering after he was admitted for an emergency procedure. he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital yesterday suffering from a fever and infection. he is scheduled to undergo a routine procedure that same date. he says he remains cancer free up a successful treatment for prostate cancer in 2009. he thanked his fans for support and prayers and ask for privacy as he recuperates. all the more city police major remains on suspension as investigators -- a baltimore city police major remains on

department, employers added 215,000 jobs last month, bringing the unemployment rate down to 8.8%, its lowest level in two years. but even with signs of progress on the road to economic recovery, potential pitfalls remain as state and local governments, desperate to balance budgets and cutting spending and shedding jobs, and rising gas prices and other consumer costs, economists believe we are in for another tough year and have a gloomy forecast for the rest of 2011. >> i think that we have stuck with unemployment hovering around 9% for much of 2011. >> economists say that the fact that got its claims drop last week at the outlook continue to improve, the second decline in three weeks, and a survey released on wednesday showed that half of the largest u.s. companies plan to ramp up hiring in the next six months. small businesses are finding it easier to get access to credit.
