that will make a slight difference with the temperatures. you can see some marine-layer clouds developing on the new jersey shore. the wind is coming off the water. it will burn off quickly. the flow will be coming out of the north and north east. temperatures are much cooler. it is in the 30's in upstate pennsylvania and back into new york. temperatures will be and it low 70's as approach to the mid 70's like yesterday. low to mid 40's in pennsylvania. sunshine is our forecast for today. upper 60's and low 70's. tonight, clear in chilly. temperatures will drop back to may be near 40 in the colder suburbs. tomorrow, the high pressure will still be in the vicinity. the wind will still be coming out of the north or northeast.

the high temperature will be 71. then the wind will turn to the south and that will make the temperature job. 76 on saturday. 80 on sunday and we'll keep the sunshine. a slight chance for some rain on tuesday and wednesday. that is a great forecast. >> retailers have modest expectation for the holiday season. will the expectations translate into holiday deals for shoppers? we have more. >> the holiday shopping season is looking just ho-ho-hum. more than $460 billion. this is less than last year's increase of 5.2%.

a sign that consumers are hesitant to open their wallets more than they have to. a lingering consumer concerns about high unemployment, high gas prices, and the shaky stock market. >> consumers have been paying down debt. retailers are able to order less merchandise and plant some strong promotions for the holidays, which will bring people into stores. >> retailers expect consumers to bmost interested in items of value and things that will get a lot of used. >> we expect this will focus on everyday items. >> you may need to seek out popular items earlier. they will keep inventories tight to keep cost down. >> as the holiday season

shares are taking a dive in germany this morning. fans are mourning the death of steve jobs at abel's stores. he has changed the way we talk on the phone and listen to music. apple is paying tribute and holding iphone vigils. tim cook faces the challenge of pushing into a new market and executing a shift to cloud computing. there is a positive start of things today. stocks were helped out on a report showing job growth and a separate report by the services industry. costco memberships are going up. 5.es will increase to $5 slow sales growth for the holiday season as the unemployment picture remains bleak.

they have little to go on. >> a trial has been delayed for a mental hospital patient accused of murder. the patient reportedly became ill, forcing the postponement. the trout is expected to resume in february. he is charged in the death of a fellow patient. jobs are a lot for two maryland correctional officers charged with assaulting an inmate. they say that excessive force was used by kicking an inmate in september. they both face up to 10 years in prison. testimony continues in the trial against ulysses currie. michael richard suggest he used the power of this office to delay aspects of an energy bill.
