muammar gaddafi has been captured and killed. good afternoon, and sarah caldwell. we begin with big news out of libya. reports that muammar gaddafi had been dead had just been confirmed by the interim prime minister. steve hansen has information from washington and we warn you, the video contains graphic images. >> the cellphone video is graphic but it is shaky. four hours, u.s. officials were scrambling to verify what libyan rebels claim -- that muammar gaddafi is dead. after 41 years in power, the murderers reign of the man that many called a deranged dictator was already over. but this looked like closure and relief. gaddafi gone. >> he was going to stick it out and died a martyr and it seems to me that he got his wish. >> libyans celebrated. many had joined the rebels to overthrow the leader they once loved, then grew to fear and hate. but they needed help and they

got it from the u.s. >> we did go in and supported a rebellion against gaddafi. it is a good thing he is gone. we ought to be careful about the lessons learned. >> one lesson is, air power alone can work. in an attack ordered by president obama, nato warplanes pounded gaddafi forces. in late spring as the u.s. role dwindled to drones, italy, france, and others, kept up the air attacks. but gaddafi, facing war crimes charges and accusations of mass murder, refused to give up or get out, even after his capital tripoli fell. he was holed up in the town of sirte. rebels say nato warplanes attacked a convoy near sirte today, and according to some reports it is how and where muammar gaddafi was caught and killed. >> the future remains a big question but there is no question u.s. intervention was welcomed by millions of arabs

thing, but unlike any other tool it can be misused. >> it appears to be the case in the alleged sexual seduction of two baltimore county teenagers. police say brandon -- used a facebook profile to chat with one of the victims and used an e-mail accounts. according to baltimore pomade -- county police, he told his victims that he was 17 in one case and 19 in the other when he was actually 22. the parents believe the child was engaged with secular activity with an adult after they found -- she found suspicious messages and phone calls and that is when she called police. investigators encourage every parent to talk to other kids about the dangers of talking to strangers on line. >> we want parents to be aware of who their friends are and educate their children about what to do if somebody who is not familiar pops up on

other monkey that was killed by the cats. >> authorities managed to tranquilize six of the animals. the creatures that were killed will all be buried on the owners farm. the president continues to push for pieces of his jobs bill. we could see a vote on the first part of the plan today, a measure that would save the jobs of more than 400,000 public workers. it involves tax hikes and republicans won't allow that. >> today the senate may hold its first vote on president obama's plan to give cash strapped states $35 billion to prevent layoffs of teachers, firefighters, police, and other public workers. on the road he criticized the republican alternative. >> dirty year air, dirtier water, fewer people on health care and less accountability on wall street. that is not a jobs plan. putting more people -- the jews in the classroom is a jobs plan.

bar you will probably be more concerned about the rap for than the actual tartlet. one candy bar, i would not worry about. but if they get into the box or the bad, that could be problematic. the smartest thing is to get them to throw up. it is not fun but there are ways to do it and your veterinarian can help you do that. if your dog eats the chocolate, call your bed and they will tell you how to make him throw up. >> my puppy is having seizures. my vet is trying to control them with medicine but they are not working. >> seizures in puppies are very different than in adults. there are some congenital deformities or puppy -- that puppies have web arteries and veins are connected so you get mixed blood. this particular kind of problem cannot be controlled with medicine. if you have a puppy with seizures, you have to see a specialist, somebody who really understands the concept. >> thank you, dr. kim. thanks, isabella.
