taken back to the baltimore county detention center after testifying in a harford county courtroom. defense attorneys for walter bishop jr. called her as a witness. they are trying to prove to the jury that carla order pressured michigan to killing her husband. defense attorneys tried to ask border questions about the murder, including, were you married to william ray porter? she invoked her right against self-incrimination, saying i plead the fit. when asked, did you participate in a conspiracy to have william gray murdered? she again pleaded the fifth. matthew brown has already been convicted in the murder. daniel blackwell also testified. he is the former boyfriend of

carla borders daughter megan. he said that she kept asking him to kill her husband, saying how much would it take, just for you to kill him? witten thousand dollars do it? he took it as a joke. another witness said carla porter asked him if he could get someone to handle some business about knocking re off. he said he would check around. the jury also heard from meaghan porter. she testified her mother was being abused by her father, but pleaded the fifth amendment when asked if she conspired with her mother to have her father killed. her attorney would not comment as he and his clients left the courthouse. >> we are just not going to make any statements at this time. >> tomorrow the defense plans to call one of the other co- defendants, carla porter's sister. she has already been convicted

of first-degree murder for her involvement. barry simms, wbal-tv 11 news. >> police in baltimore city have a murder mystery on their hands after a woman is found beaten to death in her east baltimore home. 43-year-old sherry montgomery canty's body was discovered in her home. lowell melser spoke with her family. >> baltimore city police tell us they have very little to golan after finding a 43-year-old woman beaten to death inside of this home in the 900 block of east 41st street. her family is obviously devastated over this murder. >> i am not sure as to what happened here or anything like that. all i know is that what did happen here, whoever did this needs to come forward and turn themselves in. >> per alex canty and the rest of his family, they are still coming to grips with the death of his wife, who was found dead

monday in her home in the 900 block of east 41st street. >> i got a call from my son and law saying that my grandson had called and told him that she was dead. >> police say was around 5:30 monday evening when they got the 911 call. montgomery canty was found with severe trauma to her head and would end up dying on the scene. neighbors told police she ran a small candy store out of her home for the children in the neighborhood, but police are not sure of a motive because there was no sign of forced entry. >> it appears there were some items disturbed in the home, but not really telling us what the motive may have been. >> as her family trust to put the pieces together, they have no idea who would want to kill person who did so much for her community. >> everyone in this block love my wife, wherever she is at.
