struggled with hill before the shooting and then took off with the shooter. investigators say johnson confessed to the murder after being brought in twice for questioning. ark church was like his second home. he spent most of his time study at the church. his sunday sermon will include prayers for both hill and the suspect, james johnson. h >> our prayers go out to him. obviously things went wrong for him to have made that kind of action. so we're praying for him. >> milton hill's scooter was found four days after the murder just a couple miles from where he was killed. he is charged with first-degree murder. police are still looking for two other suspects. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news.

>> new this morning, the death of a patient at clifton t. perkins hospital. staff found the unidentified patient, a man in his 30's, dead inside his room around 8:00 thursday night. police have decline today say if they suspect foul play. last friday another patient was charged with the murder of a fellow patient. >> baltimore city homicide detectives are investigating a deadly shooting in southwest baltimore. it happened after 10:00 at the intersection of bradish and he will do the could the drive. the william was shot multiple times, including in the head. there is no word on who might have shot him or why. >> a tanker truck forced a road to shut down. the driver was treated with

>> welcome back. the time is 6:12. 44 degrees downtown. not a lot to talk about today, but that will be changing as we head into the weekend. right now, chilly temperatures out there. 35 in parkton. warmer south of baltimore with the temperatures in the 40's. we're still picking up rain showers out to our south, believe it or not. that's all going to stay south of us during the day today. we'll probably get high, thin cloud cover out there. i suspect you will see sunshine sneaking through the cloud deck. also the forecast for today, a mix of sun and clouds. cooler, but high temperature near 54 degrees. sunshine exactly at 7:30. overnight, mostly cloudy skies. a chance of rain developing after midnight. temperatures drop back into the upper 50's. the evening commute will be dry as well. let's get to what everybody

wants to talk about. the jet stream down to the south. a couple impulses in the upper levels of the atmosphere. what's going to happen, we're going to see a storm develop on the coast tomorrow morning. this is what we call one of those nor'easter type things. the storm will travel up toward new york. as that happens, we will start out with a cold rain in the morning, and i think it will change over to snow in the afternoon gradually. we're going to drop in the upper 30's, low 40's tonight. we'll be above 32 degrees. even if you see snow coming down, the roads will be fine. it will be like driving in the rain. it is hard to get the snow to stick this time of year. it is difficult to tell how much snow is going to accumulate. if this were a different time of the year, we might be forecasting a snowstorm. for now, this is what we think -- rain changing to snow. 1 to 2 inches of accumulation

from baltimore up toward the pennsylvania county line. if you are closer to baltimore, you will be closer to the inch mark. closer to pennsylvania, closer to the 2 hch inch mark. the elevation change makes a difference with the temperatures. this will be a wet slushy snow. even if you see something sticking to the ground the roads will be ok. it will be like driving in the rain. still, this is a very, very unusual event for the month of october. i think things will cool off on sunday for the ravens game. sunshine, chilly, with a high near 50. halloween on monday, the clouds will thicken up, there could be sprinkles in the evening. i doubt if it is going to put a -- time 6:15. see what's happening on the roads. >> good morning to you. actually it has been a nice start so far. let's check some of the area roads. harrisburg expressway. down to the maryland line. jfx continues to move into town.

>> welcome back. the time is 6:43. baltimore city homicide detectives are investigating a deadly shooting in southwest baltimore. it happened after 10:00 at the intersection of bradish and ellicott drive. the victim was shot multiple times. no word on who shot him or why. >> route 1 has reopened 24 hours after a tanker truck accident forced it to shot down. state police trying to demple what cause -- state police are trying to determine what caused the accident. the driver was treated for minor burns. fuel mopped up to keep the fuel from going into the river. >> the sale of halloween items on the rise. the national retail federation reports sales up for a year.

>> it does appear that the economy is finally bouncing back. the commerce department reports growth last summer was the strongest in a year, back to prerecession levels. as tracy pots -- tracie potts tells us, the economy is up. >> we are already seeing asian and european markets up this morning after a european bail out. president obama said what happened there has a direct impact on mrn workers -- american workers. >> europe is not wrong. as our eighth largest trading partner, that will have an impact on our ability to create jobs here in the united states. >> the economy grew 2.5% over the summer, almost twice as much as last spring. >> we're moving further and

further away from the possibility of a so-called double-dip recession. >> consumers are spending money, but with does poseable income down, they are dipping into savings. that's a concern. businesses are spending, too. >> we are not and should not be in the business of making it more difficult for public entities nor private sector to operate. >> the feds meet next week to decide if there is more action needed on their part to keep the economy growing. also, the growth may have been due to a dip in gas prices. wbal-tv 11 news. >> be careful there. otherwise, looking at a bit of a delay coming down toward the beltway. around 37 miles per hour there.

40 at the airport right now. 35 in parkton. northern suburbs, you guys might have frost on the ground we can still pick up rain on h.d. doppler. all of that will stay south of us today. we get a high, thin cloud deck to move through. we saw that on skycam picture. a beautiful sunrise in progress right now. a mix of sun and clouds. the high temperature only 54. sunrise at 7:30. overnight tonight, the clouds thicken up, and we'll see a chants for rain developing. we'll have one of these nor'easter type storms coming up the delmarva coastline. as the cold air wraps around the back side of this storm, the rain we will see in the morning will likely change over to snow late in the afternoon and into tomorrow evening. now this time of the year, it is hard to tell how much is going

to stick because the ground is so warm. it is unusual to snow in october. forecasting snow amounts is difficult in this kind of situation. we will start with plain old rain in the morning. even if it does change to snow and decides to stick, roads will be fine. you don't have to worry it be above freezing. 2 inches. closer to baltimore, you will be closer to the one-inch mark. closer to pennsylvania, closer to the two-inch mark. if you go to the mountains, 2 to 4 inches. elevation differences make a big difference. and southern maryland, mostly rain. so again, even if it does start to accumulate, it will be motchtly on the grass, and i think the roads will be ok. so 54 today. temperatures will start in the upper 30's and low 40's tomorrow, and then fall in the afternoon. it is going to clear up on sunday for the ravens game, if you are going.
