down towards 42. 795 coming toward us in the southbound direction building. a live view of i-70 at 29. no sign of delays. that's the latest on photographic traffic. jen -- that's t latest on traffic pulse 11. >> fire officials are continuing the investigation in park heights. >> good morning. the fire started at 9:00 last night. at elmer avenue. fire officials say the fire started in a garage behind the home. police and fire crews worked after the blaze was out and it was safe to go inside the garage and they found one person dead. >> firefighters performed search and rescue operations after extinguishing another fire where they found the body of an unconscious,

non-responsive victim expired. preliminarily appeared to be from smoke inhalation and burns. >> the state medical examiner will do an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. no word on their identity or what caused the fire. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you kim. and in harford county two people had to be rushed to the hospital after a two-alarm fire at the intersection of green and mores road. no word this morning on the conditions of the victims. >> a 10th grader at a baltimore city high school is in mount sinai hospital after a 14-year-old pulled a knife on a fellow student. it is an attack that has parents and students concerned about the overall safety of the school. >> they are scared because of the bullies.

>> my son goes to school here. i want him to be safe. and i was not pleased to hear about it. >> well, school officials have not discussed a motive for the attack and parents tell 11 news they were not told about the stabbing but just told after-school programs were canceled. >> and an apparent murder-suicide. a grandmother was murdered by her grandson and police believe he then stole her car and then took his own life. >> the daughter became concerned when she got a phone call from the grandmother's employer stating she had not been to work in two days. another family member went to check on things and found victim in the basement.

she had been shot several times. >> police later found her grandson dead inside her car with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. >> the deadly police-involved shooting outside a downtown nightclub that claimed the lives of a police officer and ended up raising just as many questions as answers. outside the lounge that led to the death of plain clothed officer and shawn gamble, the board found fault across the board. among the key failures, the lack of a point person in command at the scene. a breakdown of communication with police dispatch and failure to conduct accurate ballistics tests to determine who killed the police officer and gamble. it was hindered after the officers failed to answer questions. >> they declined to answer

questions on the basis of legal advice. >> at this point the widespread criticism, the mayor says she stands behind the leadership. >> in this morning's project economy report, the labor department releases its october jobs report this morning. 11 news washington bureau kate amara takes a closer look at the numbers. >> it's the level of growth we've been seeing. it's enough to hang on and keep the unemployment rate from rising, but it's not going to start bringing the unemployment rate down. >> the labor department out with its jobs report. may be a check-up but economists aren't in the belief it's improvement. >> actually to just read the water is a disaster. >> this economist says the private sector isn't ready to fill in the gaps of the public

you're driving south, you might run into that rain. if we look up north, we can already see the clearing line around state college and pennsylvania. the clouds will break up and we'll see more and more sunshine and this afternoon it will be mostly sunny by late in the day. 5 in park on the. temperatures will not move a whole lot. it will become breezy behind this front. so it will feel cooler than that. we start with the clouds and sprinkles then sunshine breaks through. overnight, mostly clear skies and the temperature will drop down to around 30 in the subirs. scun seth at two minutes after 6:00 and high pressure over the weekend meaning quiet conditions. as we head into the weekend, we start out chilly on saturday with a high of 54.

i'm jennifer franciotti in for stan stovall. >> i'm mindy basara. thank you for joining us. tony, it feels mild out there this morning. >> compared to yesterday, it is. today we're in the 40's. not bad to start the day. temperatures will climb into the upper 50's by this afternoon. the wind will be picking up, so it will still feel chilly. even though the clouds will break up, there's about a 20% chance you will run into a morning sprinkle. but you can leave your umbrella at home. >> our big story this morning fire crews are investigating a deadly fire this morning. >> hi jen maintainedy. the fire broke out around 9:00 here on the 5200 block of elmer avenue. it was the garage behind the home that caught on fire and then that fire spread to the dwelling. police roped off the area. after the blaze was out and it

was safe, the firefighters went inside the garage found a one person dead. >> firefighters performed search and rescue operations after extinguishing the fire where they found the body of an unconscious, non-responsive victim expired and it appeared to be from smoke inhalation and burns. >> the state medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. also no official word on the cause of the fire. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> a barber was charged with sexual assaulting a 13-year-old boy. he molested the victim. he faces numerous charges, including sod my. police are looking for other victims. >> prosecutorsed -- wrapped up

their case against an official for taking money from a food warehouse in exchange for favors. >> a local hospital faces a medical mall practice lawsuit from parents who claim their 7-year-old son lost his legs because of a misdiagnosis. on september 12 eric flynn junior was brought to baltimore medical for? with a high fever, swollen tonsals and a high heart rate. the doctor failed to perform a simple that's could have saved his legs. >> despite it being standard protocol to do a strep test. >> knowing his tonsals were as swollen ads they were he could have just swabbed and done a simp strep test.

southbound traffic just starting to see some brake lights there. just starting to see delays. we'll switch over to the northwest corner of the beltway. right now looking at delays near ed monson. now tony has a check on your forecast. >> a fairly quiet start to your friday. a few sprinkles in some neighborhoods. weather map showing an area of low pressure traveling through the carolinas. instead of making the turn up the coast, this one is going to continue to move up the east. this is producing the cloud cover and the sprinkles. the rain is fairly close almost making it into southern maryland. so if you're driving from baltimore south you could run into that heavy rain. but it should stay south of us. the clearing line is starting

to drop down from pennsylvania and continue to move down to the south. the further we go into the morning and afternoon, the more the clouds are going to break up and the more sunshine we will see. the temperatures were actually warmer today. in westminster we will make it into the mid to upper 50's. and when you factor in the breeze, it will feel cool. maybe some sunshine breaking through. sprinkles possible this morning. it's going to be a breezy day. sunrise this morning at 7:37. overnight tonight clearing skies. and it will turn colder. temperatures will drop down near 30. sun selt today at 6:02. going to be setting closer to 5:02. the forecast isn't bad. chilly on saturday. we'll take it up to 54 and make it up to 60 on sunday.
