this three-alarm fire. good evening, i am rod daniels. officials say the fire started just after 9:00 at the gardens at perry hall farms, off haven farm road. we have a reporter live on the scene with the late breaking details. >> this is still a very active scene, but firefighters contained the flames. the good news, nobody was hurt. >> we were watching the news and then the doorbell rang and somebody said the condo was on fire. i ran out of the house with my slippers, about my mother and out. she is staying with a friend. neighbors gave us coats and gloves. in at 9:00 came about the fire.

>> they arrived at the scene, noticed a lot of fire, called for a second alarm and then there alarm. >> -- and then a third alarm. am i was across the street and i could see the flames. >> devastating, a lot of old people on chairs without blankets. >> the fire began to spread. fire engines from as far away as harford county came to help. >> probably about 50 pieces of equipment and 150 firefighters. >> several families that were evacuated are staying elsewhere. >> we are healthy and fine. but we will work through it. >> there are still several fire engines lining the condominium complex. the cause of the fire and where it started it is still under investigation. a traffic note to anybody

traveling here, they're only allowing residents into this area. baltimore city police are praising a teen-ager's parents for turning him in for murder. the 17-year-old is charged with killing freddie jones jr. on halloween night. the teen-ager's family recognized him on surveillance video. we have the latest from the police headquarters. >> the police are still looking for two suspects in the case. they say the 17-year-old is the one who pulled the trigger. according to baltimore city police, this surveillance video was the key to finding out who killed 52-year-old freddie jones jr. three suspects were involved in an altercation with jones and monday night. the tape stops when the suspect in the orange hoodie pulls out a

gun. freddie jones jr. was shot and killed. his grandfather recognized his grandson and a video and called the police. >> his parents brought him to police headquarters. they said they saw their son's picture on the news, they recognized him as the shooter, and they could not live with themselves knowing something of bite this happened -- known something like this happened. >> they said they were conducting street robberies the night of the murder. he said that freddie jones tried to resist and he shot him three times. no money was taken from jones. at about $10 was stolen from another customer. nobody came to the home of the teenagers' house friday afternoon. he is charged with first-degree murder, assault, robbery, and handgun charges. >> it is sad somebody in this neighborhood would do that. >> this neighbor was disturbed by the news, but glad to know his parents turned him in.

>> i am glad they did it. a lot of parents would not have done it, but i am glad they did the right thing. >> the police say that jones refused to give any information about the other two suspects, described as being in their teens or early 20's. anybody with information is urged to call metro crime stoppers. the police say a harford county teenager taking part in a gang initiation broke into a pennsylvania home and shot the man inside. the 17-year-old is facing attempted murder charges after the police say he entered the home through a dock door. -- thruway dog door. the homeowner came in downstairs, was shot in the chest, the teenager demand keys to the car, and drove off. 37-year-old blair read the

aegean -- 37-year-old larry eugene or is accused of killing a man with a hatchet and dumping his body. he is being held without bail. three men and custody accused of pretending to be cops to commit a crime. jayne miller has the details. >> the three suspects were literally caught in the act tuesday after it to street robberies in west baltimore. the first happened when that the suspects approached a man and said they were serving a warrant. >> they rifled his pockets, took money, cigarettes, and left the scene. the other individual realized something was not right. he summoned the police and we put out a citywide broadcast and we caught them doing the same

thing on baker street. >> the police say the men looked convincing. >> they were dressed in all black fatigues with police duty belt and told police badges are around their neck. >> they would look like a police officer? >> yes, they looked authentic. >> the men are charged in the street robberies, but the police are looking at if they committed home invasions in baltimore, also carried out by suspects dressed as cops. >> one suspect was charged in 2008 with impersonating a police officer, which were later dropped. u.s. economy added a modest number of jobs, jobsto night -- dipping to 9% unemployment. it is the first time the rate has fallen since july.

the government says there are now 13.9 million americans who are unemployed or underemployed. >> i am worried about putting people back to work right now because most folks are hurting and the u.s. economy is underperforming. and that today's jobs report underscores the need for immediate action on more than 15 bipartisan house-past jobs bills that are gathering dust in the democratic-controlled senate. there is no reason, not one, four senate democrats to delay action on these bills any longer. >> senate republicans have blocked the president's jobs bill. the greek prime minister george papandreou has survived a crucial vote of confidence. he was expected to step down, but since the vote, he said he would meet with the president

a trip down a river turned into a large scale water rescue in some children may have to be treated for hypothermia. sky team 11 was over the scene. about two dozen people were on the canoe when it capsized. two kids and one adult were taken to the upper chesapeake medical center, no word on their specific conditions. a perry hall high-school principal has had a change of heart and mind. he first suspended the boys' soccer team for their dance, but now says he will allow them to have a chance at the championship. >> i have made my decision to retract my statement regarding the boy's participation -- regarding the boys' participation in the championship. >> it was the news that soccer players, parents, and students

adjourned for the weekend. he is accused in the death of michael jackson. the jury will return monday morning to continue deliberations. legal analysts have been speculating when the jury will return the verdict. >> if they go past friday at 4:00, the be witching hour, going into next week, that means this jury is struggling with coming to a verdict. >> that is one person's opinion. if convicted, he faces a sentence of probation to four years in prison. he could also lose his license. jetblue has decided to accommodate passengers who were stranded on a tarmac at harford connecticut international airport. some passengers were stranded seven hours. jetblue is not only giving a refund on that ticket, but also round-trip tickets for future flights. the incident is still under federal investigation.
