>> live, local, late breaking. this is wbal-tv 11 news at noon. >> a college to be brutally stabbed to lead to die in the street near frostburg university. another static charge. good afternoon. students at frostburg university are coping with the loss of one of the road today after an off- campus murder. our reporter kortneigh mccoy tells mccoy was a recent graduate of pauley high school. she has the latest on how kortneigh mccoy is being

remembered. >> 19-year-old kortneigh mccoy from baltimore was studying physics add frostburg state university. around 1:30 a.m. sunday morning, police were called to an off- campus house and found her body in the st. thomas' staff with trauma to her head. she was killed trying to break up a fight. >> we do not know anything like this ever happening. >> and we were right in europe. >> she spent summers at her church in baltimore. >> so many times you can find yourself on the other end of evil for trying to do good. we know she is in a better place and that god still has a hand on her life. >> she was also a member of the gospel choir at frostburg and was supposed to sing with them this weekend. instead, they paid tribute to her during a memorial service. >> she would say, hey momma, and she really loved to sing. >> she loved to smile.

she loved to dance. she was a peacemaker. >> police have charged a fellow frostburg state student shanee liggins with first and second- degree murder in her death. >> of new this noon, police have one person in custody in connection with a quadruple shooting in west baltimore police say the 19-rolled shot four other men around 5:30 a.m. sunday morning outside of an after-hours club on the 2100 block of west north avenue. two of the victims were employees of the club. all treated with non-life threatening injuries. authorities believe the shootings were the result of an earlier altercation. in harford county, a high-school football star will face an arraignment for his alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl. 16-year-old raped the girl in her bedroom shortly after she passed out from a night of drinking. he is charged as an adult. if found guilty, he could face

the legendary coach art facing a scandal that only grew overnight. it began saturday with the rest of the former assistant coach, jerry sandusky, on charges he sexually abused eight boys over a 15-year time span, all of whom had participated in a charity sandusky founded to help at- risk in stores, which was profiled by nbc in 1987. one of the alleged encounters happened in 2002 on campus and was witnessed by a graduate assistant. it was reported to the athletic director, who prosecutors say failed to alert authorities. then the athletic director and the administrator announced sunday night that they would be leaving their posts at penn state. they're both charged with lying to the grand jury that has been investigating sandusky and for failing to report seven -- suspected child abuse. in a statement, he says he's

>> the jury in the manslaughter trial of dr. conrad murray gets back to deliberations today. he is accused of delivering a fatal dose of propofol to michael jackson. he has pleaded not guilty and insists the starr administered the drug himself. if convicted, he faces up to four years in prison in the loss of his medical license. residents of oklahoma are still picking up the pieces after being struck by the biggest earthquake ever recorded in that state. the 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit saturday night, and at least 10 aftershocks have been reported. officials said part of the tower at the university collapsed and three other towers are damaged. road crews have been out making repairs and likely no major injuries were reported. oklahoma has seen a dramatic increase in seismic activity, but experts have no explanation for that increase. ♪ >> ready to go, is a political
