a downed tree. route 30 is closed and closures due to flooding on route 31 at church street. we will check 97 at 100. this is the j.f.x. there is an accident further south. southbound lanes are closed at coldspring. take falls road as your alternate. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> more than 20 people are being treated for injuries after a collision involving a school bus. police say a pickup truck tried to make a left turn. the truck crossed the path of an oncoming car and slammed back into the school bus that was caring the girls' basketball

team. 70 people on the bus were taken to the hospital -- seventeen people on the bus were taken to the hospital. they have since been released. the driver of the pickup truck is being charged with driving under the influence. it will and is being treated after suffering severe burns inside her home. this happened last night on liberty parkway. her condition is not known. police have not said how the woman was burned. a man is being treated for serious injuries in after being shot in woodlawn. us for fired at rolling road -- shots were fired. no word on a suspect or possible motive for the shooting. today is one of the busiest travel days of the year. all the wet weather could

complicate things. >> kim dacey has more on the story. >> the rain has stopped for the moment. very light volume on the j.f.x. right now. >> the wet weather has caused some problems for people who were trying to beat the rush by heading out of town last evening. major arteries were jammed with traffic during the evening rush. thanksgiving travelers added to the normal commuters. it was predicted that nearly 3 million travelers will hit state highways, tunnels, and bridges over the holiday week. drivers say, with the rain, conditions were terrible on the roads last night. standing water on the roads cut visibility, paralyzed traffic, and made driving downright dangerous. >> i have had a couple of close calls and even just going under some of the bridges, going under some trees. you have more water coming down on top of the car, which makes it even harder to see. >> if you do plan to leave today or tomorrow, it is suggested to leave before 6:00

a.m. or after 11:00 p.m., especially if you plan to take 95. reporting live, kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the search continues for the second of two suspects who held up a walmart at gunpoint. edwin perkins was arrested after he and another man were seen walking out of the store with two large screen tv's. the second suspect managed to escape. >> police are stepping up their patrols in the phoenix area. firefighters were called to dance mill road to put out a blaze that destroyed a chevy suburban. visitors later found broken bottles that were burned and also a container of gas was recovered from the roadway. that is enough to have neighbors concerned. >> it doesn't frighten me but it

caused me some concern. i would hate to wake up in the middle of the night and see my car or truck being burned up. >> anyone with information is asked to call baltimore county police. >> it will but was killed after her car went barreling into the front yard of a home. she was trying to cross three lanes of traffic early on tuesday morning when she was struck by a pickup truck. she went into the yard of a home facing the highway. so far no charges have been filed. >> police look deeper into the confrontation between frank conaway and adam meister. police are trying to determine where the market took place. it is alleged conaway may have pulled a gun. permit to carry a firearm expired back in march. he is allowed to possess a registered gun on his own property but not take it over

his property line. he said he is not saying if the gun was in his possession at the time of the confrontation, but says he didn't brandish one. >> no instructors at the fire academy are being charged in connection with the cheating scandal. the report found several recruits were given confidential copies of the exam, there was no deliberate misconduct. >> it was it about the recruits and people cheating. it was about us as leaders and our lack of communication, our lack of clear direction and some inexperience. >> there will likely be further investigation of the least one instructor reproduced testing material. >> the republican presidential

across the baltimore metro area. there is another possibility of showers. this is the busiest travel day of the year -- we're seeing a break in the rain. rain likely to cause delays in new york city. the possibility as well in atlanta. denver, a beautiful destination, temperature up to 67. at the airport, we could see showers, causing delays into the day. that is the latest on the weather. we will go back to you guys. >> it is busy out there. have been talking about an accident on the j.f.x. all traffic is being diverted at coldspring.

you can take falls road as your alternate. this is affecting southbound lanes of travel on the j.f.x. we have reports of an accident. delays are expected. no delays on northbound 97. that ramp is now open. we have a problem northbound on 295, an accident. ridge road is closed because of a downed tree. closures on route 30 because of flooding. flooding an issue on church street in new windsor because of flooding. this is 295 at 175. a lot of volume out there. many folks heading out of town. watch for the accident southbound at 195. this is the j.f.x. this is the top of the j.f.x.,

south of the beltway. dow to coldspring, delays will start. the have to exit at coldspring or take falls road -- down to coldspring. >> the music has stopped at a florida university. the marching band is that the center of the deadly hazing incident. a drum major in the marching band died saturday in what is believed to be a hazing incident. all the marching band scheduled activities have been suspended. 30 students have been expelled. the pepper spray incident on friday has only seemed to strengthen the resolve of demonstrators. more tents popped up on the quad. officers involved are on leave.

the j.f.x.. it is close in the southbound direction. this is the 41st street bridge. that is the southbound j.f.x. to the right of your screen. nothing is getting by. all lanes are closed at coldspring lane. the action it is further south. you have to exit at coldspring. four vehicles are involved. falls road is a much better bet. we'll update you on 295. in the northbound direction, we have been overturned vehicle being cleared. you are looking at a little bit more volume than normal because all lot of folks are out there trying to get at of town. this is a map and southbound on the j.f.x. and remind you of that closure. we have a problem approaching little gunpowder falls bridge. some southbound delays in place from harford county.

he was wanted in connection with a deadly shooting outside of mo's seafood. he was transferred to the jennifer road detention center where he sits without bail. police are searching for two man charged in a home invasion. six men with guns broke in just before noon on tuesday. -- two men with guns. police are still piecing together the clues. >> a man has been arrested that is believed offered a board a ride last week. james oliver is a registered sex offender and is charged with a probation violation after allegedly approaching a child's in edgewater last thursday. he was arrested after the boy told school police who pass the description on to anne arundel county police. a man has been convicted of kidnapping his girlfriend's son.

felony charges. >> now this kind of cheating is very easy to do. because of inadequate screening procedures at test centers. >> the students accused of paying them to take the test all round of criminal court with scars and hats to conceal their identities. there were not identified because of their age. attorneys did not believe this was a criminal matter. >> it did not do anything and this is not a criminal matter that should be processed in the courts system. >> the criminal justice system is not a place to push his agenda. >> the scandal was first exposed in september. 40 people were identified in the cheating scandal, but the only
