>> the big story tonight is new developments in the death of a russian tourists whose body was found last june. the discovery was four months after she disappeared while visiting family in maryland. victim's believe the family's son may know what happened. we are joined live from the newsroom. >> and the woman's son is serving a prison sentence for a non-related case. police have uncovered enough information to name him as a spouse -- as a suspect in his mother's disappearance. she flew from russia to new york, rented a car, and then disappeared. investigators found the rental car in the baltimore area but there was no sign of blogger banco. four months later, a boater found the woman's body. >> the case was originally ruled undetermined as far as the manner of death simply because it was incomplete.

it has now been ruled a homicide. >> investigators have a name her 25-year-old son a suspect. he robbed a bank in delaware at gunpoint 10 days after his mother went missing. he is a russian national who had been living in the u.s. for three years in. he is now serving 10 years at a federal penitentiary at new york. police are not providing any -- not providing any information about their relationship. it was reported that paul pogrebenko called a family member during her drive. investigators are not saying who she called. >> this is an active investigation. detectives are making a lot of progress. it is complicated because of the international component. they are working with russian authorities to put some of this together. it is a bit of a complex case. >> her son had been in the united states since 2008 on a work visa. after an armed robbery arrest, he told investigators that he

married a u.s. citizen with mental disabilities solely to get a green card. he is to be deported back to russia after his prison sentence. >> a baltimore drug kingpin has reached a deal that could put him in prison for life. 27-year-old stephen blackwell plead guilty to a multimillion- dollar drug and money-laundering conspiracy. he led operations in maryland, new york, and the dominican republic. his activity culminated with a mass shooting at a barbecue in 2009 at which police say he was the target. 12 people were shot in the incident. he was also in the news when his brothers were kidnapped. police believe he was the intended make them there as well. a man accused of killing a baltimore bar owner pleaded guilty to that. robert gardner was a hit man hired by lee martin's wife.

nartin was the owner of hops i . paul schurick, the former aide to bob ehrlich, it is charged with using robocalls to suppress the black vote in last election. some voters say they received a different robocall from the congressman telling them to ignore the one suggesting they stay home. the attorney of schurick denies any notion that he broke the law. >> any conspiracy the have been indicted, hundreds of thousands of papers and documents have been mailed. where is this great conspiracy? >> his co-defendant is set for february. a prosecutor will decide whether to file charges against a

baltimore circuit court clerk. this follows an altercation in which police say conaway may have pulled a gun. they are handing over the case given his position. the president of the baltimore police union have been stripped of his hours after being charge of assault. he's been suspended with pay after an internal investigation. he is accused of accosting a sedan driver. the driver says he accused him of selling drugs, slapped him, and stock -- and such a gun in his face. he could face further disciplinary action. tonight, some done all residents are still -- dundalk residents are in shock after seeing their neighbor on fire. >> it was horrible. >> she was running out of the house, screaming help me.

>> a man was also burned. the victims lived together. tonight, we spoke with neighbors who jumped to help. >> you could see her whole body was on fire. her head and everything. >> it took forever to get to her. it was probably only about 30 seconds. it felt like a lifetime. >> police say both victims had xl role in their closing. they are hospitalized with life- threatening injuries and investigators are looking into whether or not the burning was intentional. if you do the shopping for thanksgiving dinner, you may have noticed that you are paying more to put a meal on the table this year. according to the american farm bureau association, the average cost of a feast for 10 is $49.29. that is up more than $5 from last thanksgiving. the big ticket item is always the bird.

a 16-pound turkey averaged almost $22 this year. thanksgiving eve is often called the busiest travel day of the year. this year is no different. this was the scene around i-95 in the whitewash area. about 800,000 marylanders will hit the road this thanksgiving, despite a increase in gas prices from last year. things were surprisingly smooth at the airport. >> is a good time to fly right now. it is not rush hour. we are moving ok. we have a lot of luggage. >> the airport expense 36,000 passengers will fly through this holiday season. amtrak is provided -- is prepared for 34,000 people along the holiday quarter alone. >> there is a new set of issues for most of us. how to make the most of family

at the inner harbor. some areas ended up with a two-4 inches of rain over the past few days. highs were above normal by 11 degrees. they occurred in the morning. for several hours, temperatures have been falling. 22 years ago, we were dealing with thanksgiving snowfall. it started on november 22 and finished on thursday, thanksgiving morning. we started that thanksgiving day with about 4 inches of snow on the ground. not quite that cold right now around here. but it is getting chilly. freezing in oakland now. the winds are gradually diminishing. we are still picking up gusts of 25-30 miles per hour in the eastern shore, but much lighter towards the west. by tomorrow, clear skies, light winds, and colder temperatures. the storm that brought us the rain is east of main and now. high pressure should deliver gorgeous weather for the next

few days. if you're traveling to mar, it is a good day to travel. the big travel hubs should all have a clear skies for flying. seattle a little unsettled with temperatures in the '40's. the airports all look good. more than normal and clear skies expected. we are looking for a high of about 60 degrees or so. not as windy as today. on the bay, winds will be diminishing with waves of 1-2 feet. temperatures now in the low- fifties. in western maryland, told in the morning but lots of sunshine thanksgiving day. for the eastern shore, same scenario. we will gradually warm up to the weekend. temperatures could reach mid-'60s by friday. for the seven-day forecast, we have a full baltimore evening and the weather should be great. 58 degrees is the high. settling into kickoff tomorrow evening.
