>> there it is. >> and that's after it's been cleaned out. >> you're going off to europe soon. are you going to clean out your wallet before you go? >> let me tell you something. i have been mad trying to make this trip to europe. this morning i was looking for my passport and i was afraid. because i knew it was somewhere but i don't know where. and i knew we went to canada recently, so i knew i had it. so i went through the jeans and bags. >> your jeans? >> when you go out of customs, you just slip it right there. i didn't find it there. i looked in multiple bags, which i have. i was tearing my apartment apart. and where was it? in a drawer where i stuffed it. i must have thought i won't ever forget it. where do you keep yours? >> we have a special little passport holder and frank holds every one of them together in his office in a passport spot. >> here's the thing. i think about the spots, but i have so many different spots. like i can picture it somewhere.

>> we know why hoda's is fat. the tougher the economy gets, the more we tend to hold on to old receipts, movie tickets, we become hoarders. the average credit card holder has 3.5 cards. half a card ain't going to get you much and 75 to $150 in cash. i'm surprised by that, i thought it was going to be less. and 75% of people say at one time or another they have lost their wallet. only a third of then have gotten it back. >> if you want to increase your chances of getting your wallet back, have a baby picture or something personal in there. so they'll look at it and realize you're a human being. >> so if it's stolen, the thief mit be moved -- >> no, if you lose it and someone finds it. >> but that's where most i.d. theft comes from. it's not on the internet or -- >> i find that very interesting. what are these?

says, i want to be in the bahamas driving a speedboat without a care in the world. boom, he's gone. the clerk says, me next! i want to be in hawaii, relaxing on the beach with the love of my life and plenty of drinks. pop, she's gone. you're up, the genie says to the manager, who immediately replies, i want those two back in the office after lunch. the moral to the story is always let your boss have the first say. >> always. >> you know what it's time for? >> bobbie's buzz. hello, doll baby. wait a minute, is this little house on the prairie? what's going on? >> i like different things. it's a vintage look. okay. so today's buzz is sip and swirl. i thought this would be fun to make you wear. >> by the way, bobbie used yours before, so just be careful.

glasses that have the sand go through. >> so you can time your drinking. or like college kids, play some drinking games. but i didn't say that. uncommon goods. and this is a cool way to turn your wine glasses into little mini lamps for the table. >> that's cute. >> this is important, we have a big "dateline" special coming up. it's on sunday night. you know when you love to see those animal videos, on sunday, 7:00, 6:00 central, there's a 3-year-old little boy who tumbled into a gorilla pit and he was saved by a mother, but not the mom you think. take a look. >> oh, my god. >> they're like, the gorilla has the boy, the gorilla has the boy. and all i saw was all of them coming towards the child. a bunch of the people from the zoo started coming into the exhibit. they started bringing out hoses so they could hose the gorillas out of the way. >> upper hose reel.

coast. cool in the pacific northwest. here's that system, moving from now, up to the great lakes. behind it we'll have a chance for snow for places like minneapolis on down into parts of iowa could see the snowflakes and windy with that in the plains. look at the blue dipping down now. readings and daytime highs in the 30s and 40s. that system for sunday, huge travel day, everyone heading home. we'll see a chance for rain and some thunderstorms in the south, up into the northeast. mainly the inland locations. but that will be working through the northeast, quiet in the middle part of the country for sunday. monday, the southeast, mid-atlantic, that's going to be your best bet for a chance of rain. just a few showers in the northern rockies. tuesday, we'll see that chance for rain in the northeast and the mid-atlantic while the rest of the country is quiet and on the cool side, temperatures in the 30s and 40s.

and then for a wednesday, looking to midweek of next week. a pretty quiet for the most part, but we'll have a chance foreseeing showers in the northwest and in the northeast with temperatures topping out into the upper 40s and lower 50s. and remember on the weather channel, you can watch "wake up with al" weekdays. we're back in today's kitchen, getting saucy in the kitchen with gavin chasten, executive chef of cafe here in new york city. >> he's here making the perfect meal out of the last of the summer's tomatoes. are we at that point already? >> what are you whipping up? >> sometimes the last of the tomatoes, sometimes you get some that are bruised. they've been around the block. >> i know the feeling. >> we make what we call tomato water.

which is basically it's fennel, celery, basil, garlic, tomatoes. you pour that into a bowl. and then i'm going to add some salt and we're going to add some peppers as well. >> what are you making? >> this is going to be a broth pretty much or a soup. >> like tomato water. we cover it up. >> i think you made this last time for us. i don't remember. >> this basically steeps and it's going to cook for about 45 minutes to an hour and you're going to get this beautiful liquid that's going to come out of it. and with that we have some sausage which we've rendered. and there's a lot of fat in there. >> did you do that in olive oil? >> just a very little bit of olive oil. you don't need much. and you want to start. >> yes, tell me what to do. >> what kind of fish is this? >> striped bass, okay? where you going with that?
