fans. we went a very, very dark, you know, negative place. there's been so much growth and evolution since then, but the one thing that remains consistent is trials and tribulations. we've been strong through it all, and i felt like the title "my life 2" is perfect to celebrate how strong we are and how far we've come and who we are. >> you call it a journey. when you think about where you were 23 years ago, those were dark days. was it hard to look back as you look forward with this album? >> it wasn't hard to look because i didn't center to look back because my life is real. it's full of trials and tribulations as well as try jumps and great things and positive things. the reason for the title is because of the consistency of how to get to the next place. there's always discomfort. we get there, and we break through. then there's another trial, and then we break through. then there's another trial, and we didn't have that understanding on the first "my life" album.
