basketball game. this saturday afternoon as the tigers took the court to play the beavers, the crowd was buzzing. >> i am thrilled. it is a wonderful opportunity. >> we are here because he knew he was coming. >> the game was a family reunion of sorts. the first family came out to watch michelle obama'brothers coached the oregon state beavers. many fans were hoping to get a picture with the first family. with the leader of the free world in attendance there were a heightened security measures. there were told to arrive in advance for the added security screenings. >> i have never seen metal detectors outside the house and -- towson center. >> also in attendance were state

political leaders and bill murray whose son is an assistant coach for the tigers. the big draw was the president and his family. >> it is definitely an experience to remember. >> it was not all basketball today. during halftime, the tigers were awarded the championship trophy they won last week. president obama was on hand to take pictures with the team. what a day for the university. the bba ltv 11 is. -- wbal-tv 11 news. >> police say 36-year-old woman was driving on east 22nd street when she and her passenger were shot by an unknown gunman. the woman was shot multiple times. the man was shot in the arm. police say it is too early to tell if the gunman was on foot

or in a car. the preliminary investigation revealed the victims were targeted. they hope video cameras and the public will help to solve the case. >> detectives are scouring for any potential witnesses in the area. they are reviewing surveillance video to see if a portion of the incident was captured on tape. we're hoping for the help of the public in bringing the suspects to justice. >> they say the victims ones are not life-threatening. a lot of people are on the road this holiday weekend. there have been a number of fatal accidents. in howard county, speed appears to have contributed to an accident last night that killed two teenagers and sent three more to the hospital. police say the driver of lost control of his car. he crossed the line and hit a tree. he is in critical condition at shock trauma.

two teenagers died at the scene. two others were released this morning from the hospital. >> we do believe speed may have been a factor. we also believe the two deceased people were not wearing seat belts. that could have contributed to their death. >> all the people involved in the accident are from anne arundel county. a candlelight vigil is planned for tonight at north county high school. around 5:00 this morning, a team of people were killed in a crash on eastbound salmon the region on eastbound 70. traffic was stopped because of an unrelated incident. one car failed to stop and set off a chain reaction involving six vehicles. both victims are from frederick. in baltimore county, a man is dead after being hit by a motorcycle. it happened last night on eastern boulevard near 54th. police say the victim was

a helicopter attack that injured 13 people at two border posts. the reported incident is located near the border with afghanistan. the u.s. ambassador to pakistan released a statement saying the u.s. would work closely with pakistan to investigate the incident. elections in egypt are expected to begin on monday as scheduled despite the recent unrest. at least one person was killed during protests today. it was, by this afternoon. -- it was calm in tahrir square by this afternoon. >> the prime minister has held meetings with leaders of political forces. he is attempting to form a cabinet that could please everybody. the supreme council of the armed forces say elections will go as planned on monday. they have extended the voting hours to go into tuesday. they will give voters temple days to get to the polls. they are expecting a record

turnout. they insist elections are the only way forward for the country. there are no signs they will be handing over power to civilian government, but the incoming prime minister has said he has been given extended powers not previously given to his predecessors. this comes after more consultations trying to find some kind of solution to end the protest that has dragged on for more than a week. >> a funeral for former first lady of france mitterand took place in france today. she was known as a strong advocate for the rights of minority groups. her husband was in office for 14 years and france's longest serving president. the mars rover has begun its journey to the red planet. it launched from cape canaveral, fla., this morning.

the curiosity rover is nuclear- powered and the size of a carpet is scheduled to land next august. it will spend 10 years analyzing rocks and soil on the planet. >> i was able to walk up and say hello to the president. i told him welcome to baltimore. we're also talking about football. we have a lowlight coming up later in sports. >> another nice day to day with just some clouds. rain to the west. that is what we're watching. the forecast is next. look at all the lights. is that time of year. it should be colder. we made it to near 70. right now, is down to 53 at the airport.

we missed the cord by a couple of degrees. the record in 1979 was 72 degrees on the state. we missed by two degrees. annapolis is 53. westminster is 55. frederick is down to 48. it is in the 50's in the mountains to the west. these are mild conditions when you consider the time of year. i pressure is offshore. high-pressure is offshore. we have mild conditions. it is dry and not terribly humid. eventually, all of this will come in. it will take a couple of days for all of this to move through. it will not happen in one quick sweep. you can see the warm air coming in ahead of the front. that is well-defined through illinois, missouri, and arkansas. that is more typical for this

time of year. tonight, we will see a lot of clouds. the wind will be calm. it looks like we will get through tomorrow without rain. sunday night into monday morning, there might be a few sprinkles. the southwest wind will be 5 to 10 miles an hour. the wind will keep the temperatures around 60 even with clouds tomorrow. the waves will be up to 3 feet. there will be a small craft advisory in effect. minnesota and chicago might see some snow mixed with rain. there could be showers in atlanta. baltimore and new england will be dry tomorrow. the pacific northwest still has rain chances. the southwest looks nice and dry. the rain will hang to the west tomorrow. by 11:00, some sprinkles might

be close to the area. the real chances will hold off until tuesday. the forecast calls for 63 on sunday. 59 on monday and 56 on tuesday. the rain chances will slowly rise. the highs chances will be on tuesday. wednesday it will get chilly with a sprinkle of only 48. >> the presidential visit inspired the wrong team. president obama drew a rousing ovation upon our arrival. the atmosphere created motivated the home team. despite the obvious secret service presence, the first couple was approachable. that is nice to see. oregon state has already won over texas. look out below.

the game was tied at 6. towson played hard. the tigers have the lead. that is better than when they played michigan this year. collier is rocking. oregon state the winner 56-46. a season of remarkable disappointment came to an end today. another defeat. top this for terrible. they tried to give away first quarter. he dropped the ball. going the other way. 66 yards for the touchdown. terps go up and lead at the half.
