gender justice, worker rights, to not occupied baltimore takes a look at what it has accomplished and where it needs to go. that is our big story tonight. baltimore is one city were thousands of people have participated in the movement to end corporate tyranny. they reflect on their progress and future. we are joined live from downtown with the story. >> occupied baltimore made -- discuss the past, present, and future. the future is in question here at the square. nearly 100 participants of the occupied baltimore movement pact a meeting room in downtown baltimore to take part in the organization's first discussion saturday evening. participants and the supporters discussed the past, present, and potential future of the movement. they also celebrated the two

month anniversary of the movement. >> we wanted to get people together, both also had been involved and on the ground organizing but also people who had been allies to the movement. while many spoke about the progress made in baltimore, they are also concerned about the longevity of its camp located at the square in the inner harbor. a site where hundreds of occupied baltimore protesters have set up. >> we always have to be open to the possibility we will be left out of the square. >> a few days ago, officials denied protester request for a permit to remain in the square. the city will remove the protesters at a time of its choosing. >> if it happens, it happens. >> the are confident that when the time comes they will not endure the pilot evacuation's that occurred in other cities. >> a think they will be given decent notice and let those people who want to go go.

>> they hope to have more panel discussions throughout the city in the future. reporting live, wbal tv 11 news. >> baltimore county police are investigating a hit and run crash and towson at sent somebody to the hospital. it happened just before 7:30 tonight. a man was found injured near the ramada inn after being hit by a vehicle. he fled the screen. it is described as a silver or gray nissan traveling southbound toward the baltimore city line. about 100 residents of the northwest baltimore apartment building are under different rooms after a three alarm fire destroyed their homes. many residents who were elderly scrambled out of the building as fire crews battled the flames. firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

two large units were destroyed. some residents are left with nothing. >> i heard the alarm. i grabbed my pants. i was laying in bed in my underwear. i rushed out. >> the red cross tells us the displays -- and those displaced in the fire are staying with family and friends. two and are recovering after being stabbed in annapolis. police are looking for a suspect. police identified the victims as 22-year old daniel of mount airy. their injuries are not considered life-threatening. church officials say he died at the order of it -- residents and irvington. he suffered from prostate

cancer he came in 2001 from kentucky where he became the second largest sitting president. he was 64 years old. the funeral is tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. -- 10:30 a.m.. herman cain said he is suspending his bid for the republican presidential nomination but insists he is not going away. he made the announcement at what was supposed to be a rally opening its atlanta headquarters. he denied sexual harassment allegations including claims of a 13-year affair. his wife stood behind him on stage. >> i am not going to be silenced. i am not going away. i am at peace with my wife. she is at peace with me. >> herman cain said he plans to endorse another candidate in the near future, and he said it will

not be president obama. the republican challenger new gingrich praised herman cain to bring optimism and big ideas to the 2012 campaign. >> he was always good humored and optimistic. we will miss him on the campaign trail. >> republic -- republican candidates -- hermann -- ron paul said he will not be participating in a debate held by donald trump. he said donald trump's role will be a distraction. the fate of a kidnapped american and pakistan is now in the hands of off -- al qaeda. a video message says it is up to al qaeda to negotiate the release of him after objected four months ago. >> the tell a ban -- taliban

claim to be working alongside al qaeda. they took responsibility for the adoption of a 70-year-old american who was abducted from his home back on august 13. they said they took him from his home and transferred him from one house to another until it was safe enough to announce that were behind the abduction. although they were behind the kidnapping, they say it will be up to al qaeda to negotiate the release. they are working side-by-side with the leader of al qaeda. they see him as their own leader. it will be and who will be making the demands. also, the release of all prisoners in guantanamo bay and other secret u.s. presence as they put it. the message came out in a video released through islamic form on thursday. >> coming up on 11 is, a warm
