was someone familiar with the stores and the way they handled business. tonight, a 29-year-old is under arrest charged with several armed robberies of goodwill stores. barry, we understand the suspect once worked for one of the stores that was robbed. >> that is right. police did suspect this was someone who knew a lot about good bill. as they did the investigation, they found out the suspect as someone who had worked at a goodwill store. >> it is a shame in a community like this. >> this will mentor friends share similar reactions to the recent robberies at the goodwill stores. the robbery started november 11. richard pettaway of baltimore city is charged with five counts of armed robbery and three counts of use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence. he is a former goodwill employee.

conrad gaylord is charged with transporting a weapon. a woman discovered the body in a car. according to police, they responded to shot fired a few hours before but did not see alves because of the tinted windows on the car. >> detectives believe he had been fatally shot at that time and they believe that the heavy window tinting that he had on his vehicle obscured him from view by the deputies. >> the quick arrest of the man in the custody was due to the work done around the clock by the detectives. the man authorities say killed a virginia tech police officer before committing suicide had broken up with his girlfriend over the summer and vaguely mentioned family issues. according to friends and former classmates, ross truett ashley was loyal and never hinted that violence. he never talked about guns and did not use drugs or drink
