>> live, local, late breaking-- this is wbal 11 news at 12:00. >> a good afternoon. our big story at noon, a maryland man accused of robbing several goodwill stores will head to court this afternoon for a bail review. police say the 29-year-old is a former employee of the goodwill store and believe he is responsible for the robberies which happened during business hours. investigators say he forced goodwill employees and customers

into a back office before taking money from the cash register and safe. the events have taken many shoppers by surprise. >> i think it is a shame someone would steal from a business like good will, especially since there giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate. >> court records show he pleaded guilty to armed robbery in 2003 and was given probation. he is being held at the baltimore county detention center. police are investigating a shooting that happened around 10:00 on sunday night. officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in southwest baltimore where investigators say they found a man with a knife. authorities say the officer shot the suspect after the suspect refused to drop the weapon. >> upon their arrival, they met an individual inside the home who was unruly and argumentative with police. this individual had a knife. he began to advance police officers with that knife. after numerous commands, the

police asked him to drop the knife and you shot numerous times. >> the suspect is in critical but stable condition and the officer was not hurt. one man is dead after a police- involved shooting in to come apart. the suspect stabbed a driver while attempting to steal as portion on saturday. che on saturday.tio he was shot and later died at a hospital. the owner of the car remained in critical condition. state fire department is -- state fire marshal is trying to determine what caused a fire which killed three people. there is a two-story home engulfed in flames. it took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. investigators have not released the names of those who died. once again, temperatures are

below where they should be this time of year. we started off in the teens and twenties in the suburbs and looks like we're still only in the 40's as we get toward the new hour. we should only be in the upper 40's. we expect highs to get to about 44. cloudy skies and 41 degrees right now. high-temperature is to get into the mid-40s. clouds in the afternoon and evening hours and a chance the eastern shore could see light sprinkles this evening. i think baltimore stays mostly dry. we will talk about the changes ahead in the seven-day, including warmer weather. >> as gop presidential hopefuls prepare for the iowa caucuses, mitt romney is trying to explain a way a moment from the debate as new to gingrich tries to -- as newt gingrich tries to keep his lead in the polls. >> the first boats are weeks away in their republican -- a first of votes are just weeks

side. very dry conditions right now across the mid atlantic and clouds streaming in from the south. there is an area of high pressure and control across the east, there are waves picking up in the southeast growing in moisture and producing showers in south carolina and georgia. this is slowly making its way up toward the north. this is something we will be watching as we go through the next couple of hours. the eastern shore may see showers out of that. here is a look at the temperatures.

44 at the inner harbor. much better as you head down toward that eastern shore. much colder as you head into western maryland. 37 in oakland and 33 in crawford. we had a very chilly start today with clearing overnight that allows the temperatures to drop down and we've seen that clouds moved in from the south. this is associated with showers down in the southeast, even though we are under an area of high pressure. right now, we are seeing moisture coming off the atlantic, wrapping around high and producing showers in the southeast. some of this could migrate back into the mid-atlantic. we will focus on a new storm system coming out of the northern plains and this could bring a chance for more clouds and what whether as we go later in to the week. very chilly across the northern half of the nation.
